i use W95 but i'm definitely thinking of installing W98 SE
however, since my PC isn't quite the most ~cough~ recent type, I was wondering if it's worth it and if it's possible to kepp'em both
my system: AMD K5 100Mhz 32Mb RAM EDO 4Mb graphics card modem CD-ROM etc.
would W98 work any better than W95 or would it just eat up too many resources?

Not worth upgrading to Win98... but you might want to consider buying more RAM... it's *very* cheap right now...

I also run a pretty old system by today's standards... AMD k6 overclocked to 300. 128 mg ram. Just recently installed W98. Had to because some programs won't run under W95.... that was the only reason.

If you don't plan on installing some newer programs... stick with what you've got... if you're looking to install some new programs.... I'm afraid you're going to have to consider a 'whole' new system.

If you go down the page you'll see that I recently asked the same question about 2 operating systems... you'll find some good information there. The bottom line is 'no'.... at least not without more trouble than it would be worth on system like 'ours.'

Another shortcoming of *our* systems... is that a larger Hard Drive.. well anything larger than 2 gig... must be partitioned...and the partitions cannot be larger than approximately 2 gig... so if you purchased a 20 gig HD you'd have drives c-d-e-f-g-h-i-j-k-l. A bit much.

Hmm, I've had win98 for a long time, and put it on my P133 w/ 48MB (my sister's now) and it ran, and still runs well.
