mr.maX proudly presents new & improved MAX's OZONE Asylum Locator Millennium Edition :-)

Since Linear has stopped updating original planetary locator (and stopped visiting OZONE Asylum altogether), I?ve decided to take it over (I announced this some time ago in DHTML/JavaScript board). Besides taking it over, I also rewrote it from scratch, so that main thing is done on the server-side by PHP. New version of locator works in NN4 & Mozilla, too. Also, you?ll notice that new version of locator better handles inmates that live very near. That should be all that I had to say about technical stuff.

Anyone who?s not on the planetary locator and would like to be added should submit appropriate information according to following instructions. Go to this web site to find you location in latitude & longitude (both values must be with *decimal degrees* rather than minutes). After that fill in appropriate fields in the following line (username, latitude & longitude fields are required!):

'>username<', >latitude<, >longitude<, '>e-mail<', '>web site<'

As you can see you can also provide your e-mail & web site address. Here?s an example that represent my location & information (first three fields are required, no e-mail specified, web site specified)

'mr.maX', 44.83, 20.50, '', 'http://www.maxworld.co.yu/'

Please submit complete line as stated above (so that I can simply use copy/paste without editing).

Enjoy!

Ok, I've added DG, TP & CX to the locator.

Now, after I saw TP's submission, I have to add one thing - Numbers (latitude & longitude) don't need to be quoted (simply said, don't put quotes around them). Also, type complete URL of your web site (with "http://" part).

Now, as far as Opera is concerned, I never said that new locator works 100% in Opera, sorry. As I've said in my first post, it works in NN4+, Mozilla and IE (the last one goes without saying)...

BTW, Maybe you already know it mr.maX, but the server was 'very' down this morning!

I still haven't seen the map locator...
And if you need with some graphics or whatever to ad the PPP I can help you!

Edit II> Looks that it wasn't your server but my connection....

Edit> 911, read mr.maX first post, there you can find your coordenates..

Wakkos, that's partially correct (I've modified it though), heh... Fields order must be preserved, so you had to add additional blank field before web site field.

General advice: When submitting your entries, I would suggest you to copy my example submission (the one with >whatever< entries) and simply modify text between > & < (and don't forget to remove > & < characters, since they are not necessary).

As far as my server is concerned, it works fine, so the problem must be somewhere on your side.

911, as Wakkos said, re-read my first post and this time read it carefully...

This is my exact one for home:

'Emperor', 53.467, -3.033, 'emperor@evilemail.com', ''

However, I know Darkshadow is also in or around Liverpool so it might be more convenient to go for the more general lat/long for Liverpool otherwise the map could get a little 'messy' (and weekdays I'm in the city most of the day anyway) so this might be the better option:

'Emperor', 53.417, -3.000, 'emperor@evilemail.com', ''

I doubt the scale of the map would allow such distinctions anyway (it'd be pretty much on Relain and Tricksters stars anyway!!).

[edit: Oh and thanks to Max for taking this over - I forget my manners sometimes]

Wakkos, remove > & < characters and it will be perfect, heh...

Emperor, my PHP script automatically groups inmates that live very near, so you don't have to worry about that... I've added your exact coordinates and when you go to the normal resoltuion of the locator, you'll be grouped with other inamte(s) that live near you. On the other hand, when you go to enhanced resolution, you will be placed on exact location...

BTW If someone asks how to switch from normal resolution to enhanced resolution, just take a look at the text below OZONE Asylum logo on the locator page...

Allewyn, there are no special requirements in order to view new locator. You probably disabled something that prevents DHTML/JavaScript from functioning correctly. Try to temporary enable all disabled items and see will it work. Also, try using Mozilla to look at the locator...
