| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: 8675309 | posted 01-09-2002 16:18 Sorry Dark-no go on the version you sent me. We do have Illustrator 6 somewhere so maybe I can get my paws on a copy of that font after all |
| Paranoid (IV) Inmate From: The Soft Cell | posted 01-09-2002 16:23 You seem to be having a problem with loading fonts. are you dragging them onto the system folder or opening the fonts folder and dragging them straight in there? I used to drag fonts over the system folder and get frequent problems but since dragging them straight into fonts folder I've had no problems. |

| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: 8675309 | posted 01-09-2002 16:48 I think Morph was referring to me. Morph-They're giving me PC fonts. They don't work on Mac. Mac doesn't recognize them as a file type... |

| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Southern Alabama, USA | posted 01-09-2002 20:24 I remember where I used to work they had a software called FontHopper to convert fonts between PC/Mac. I really don't know all that much about how it works. |
| Neurotic (0) Inmate Newly admitted | posted 01-09-2002 23:31 Here is another PC to Mac conversion program called transtype |
| Paranoid (IV) Inmate From: The Soft Cell | posted 01-10-2002 10:10 I was attempting to give Jeni advice on loading fonts into a mac but clearly the problem was the font type although i've always found true type fonts will work on a powermac or higher. I've worked with macs for years but only had a pc for a couple of months so i'm still finding my way around windows but as I havn't yet loaded any new fonts I will remember what you said when it comes to it Dark |

| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: 8675309 | posted 01-10-2002 20:25 Darkgarden and I worked with Mac and PC conversion Font packages yesterday...we were only able to get TrueTypes to even be recognized on Mac...and they still didn't work. |

| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: 8675309 | posted 01-11-2002 16:27 Hi Kromaz I'm assuming you're on mac...here's the problem...when I uncompress the folder, the fonts are there, but they have the generic icon (os not recognizing file format)...Do you have any ideas? Are they in suitcases? |
| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Adanac | posted 01-11-2002 16:34 I'm on a Mac and they are in suitcases with the bitmap and printer font. |
| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Adanac | posted 01-11-2002 16:44 Here's a screen cap of what is in the folder on my Mac. |
| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: 8675309 | posted 01-11-2002 16:45 Wait a gosh darn minute.....You're not going to believe this....They were showing up with simpletext icons and then I selected all of them and said to "un compress" and there they are! In suitcases! I am using Extensis suitcase 10.0 for the record. As I have been typing this, I was informed that they're changing the font LMAO. I love my job! I'll hold onto the font (and keep it close). I've learned a lot from this and I hope it was helpful for others. Thanks everybody! |
| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Adanac | posted 01-11-2002 17:42 To open a Zip or Stuffit Archive you always have to select all the folders or files in order to decompress them. |
