Preserved Topic: Chess Tourney page up (Page 1 of 3)

I created a simple page for the chess tourney at www.haughtbk.com/ozonetourney.html I invite everyone to stop by every now and then to see how we are doing. Most of the games are off to a good start!

Veneficuz vs. insider -- they have yet to get a game started. If you guys are having problems, let me know.

Synthetic -- If no one else joins up in a day or two, I know of someone else I will invite to participate in this tournament to even things out. Just hang in there, you'll be playing soon.

I'm waiting for Inside to enable private challenges so I challenge him or is there some other way to challenge him without using the private challenge function?

Insider, if you are still playing, post here and I'll hook you up with another player once your private challenge problem is taken care of.

And if anyone else is interested in playing, just let me know. This may be your chance to play our very own Doc Ozone one-on-one at some point in the tourney. Just like getting a chance to play Michael Jordan one-on-one ... or maybe not ...

Yes, Massacre, you are naughty, but I don't want to say too much just yet. If you remind me in a week or two, I'll e-mail you with a few thoughts.

Man, I can't believed I'm being sucked into this. I've only played on-line once, and I got beat by a guy name "unemployedloser". The last time I played regularly, I was consistantly pummeled by an idiot. I thought this guy would be easy to beat due to his lack of intellect and common sense, but it turned out that he's a chess genius. One night I beat him twice in a row and he's still pissed about it because I'm the only one to do so.

This doesn't compare to the good old days of a bunch of friends sitting around playing full-contact chess and table-talking out our asses, but this is fun.

warjournal - are you hinting around that you want to join in? If so, then make a player page at Stan's and I'll get you entered. I also feel your pain about losing to someone you figure you can get an easy win against. One chess grand master -- can't think of his name off the top of my head -- is quoted as saying after a tough match "How could I lose to such an idiot?!" Famous chess players are generally better known for their egos rather than their good sportmanship

Stan's chess site works just fine. I was just there. My own page may be down right now, but I should have it back up tomorrow. Gotta pay the "rent" so to speak ... but don't have time to today.

My sincere apologies for my chess page being gone. Case of bad timing. Buying a house now, so decision between renewing my web site account and buying the house is a no contest kinda deal, ya know!? Not enought money for both.

Later this week I might try to slap it up on a Geocities account or something.

Just wanted to say that my page listing the games is back up. Went ahead and renewed my account. Just don't tell the wife, all right guys?

Also, I wanted to point out that you can post messages to your game page when you submit a move. Just type in the 'message' box that is right below your move submission button. Taunting your opponent is always fun during a heated game ...

Cool, BeeKay. My lips are sealed. Although I hope you don't get into too much trouble down the road for your decision to renew.

Don't forget to eventually add my game with Skaarjj. For the record, I don't want to play Skaarjj ever again. Out for blood right off the bat. Skaarjj = aggressive and scary. He was at my front door in the first few moves. Basterd.

Yes, I will update the page within a day or two and maybe even do a little commentary. You're not the only one trying to fight off an aggressive opponent ...

Wait... I was assigned????? OH IM SO SORRY!!!!!!!!!! so i have to enable this private challenges thingy? a little help hmmm.....

insider, go to your player page ... on the right side of the first green bar there is a yellow edit button. Click on it. Then find the option to turn on private challenges. Once you are set up let me know here, I'll need to dig up an opponent for you.

Anyone else having any troubles? Can you figure out how to castle, do pawn promotions and all that?
