Oh boy, let the fun begun.

trekky: we try not to discuss warez here. This is the relevant FAQ entry, and this is a recent thread which you might find useful.

Umm.. First let me say a very warm hello to you Trekky. Always good to see a new face, and one that's a Star Trek fan to boot. But if you could check the Asylum FaqWiki Etiquette, that might help with postings. One of the main things is we don't mention the having, producing, locating of things warez related.

I'm sure one of the Mad Scientists will pop in to say the same thing, but I just saw your post and thought I'd mention it. As to the product you mention, I've never heard of it. Do you have a URL?

Edit: Irk... Phone calls and kids.. Gotta love interruptions. Two of our fine, fine straightjacket models went ahead and beat me to the punch.

Umm er What do you need it for?

And jeez let's not hop all over the guy he just mentioned he got the crack for it. As DG said in another thread the ethical concerns are his let's not pass too much judgement.

Heh.. Well when I started with my message, no one else had posted. By the time my wife and kids had stopped distracting me, and I hit the Submit button, there were already two otehrs in the pipe. If I'd known (and yea, maybe I should have re-checked before posting) I'd not have posted.

I still say it's good to see another Star Trek fan.

bitdamaged: who jumped all over the guy? I just pointed him to some valuable resources. And I thought it was made clear in the other thread that, while we may talk about piracy in the abstract, Doc didn't want us to talk about personal experience. I think as a matter of courtesy we should respect that. I was not passing judgment on him, just letting him know that we try not to discuss those things.

Pretty neat coincidence that the very first post comes
exactly a few hours after we talk about NOT posting for
crackz here

From the Doc:

quote:
We've always been very strict concerning piracy here, and will close down in a second any thread that tries to promote a warez site, or share passwords, that kind of thing. Threads where people come in and *ask* for serial numbers; well, they can just be fun for all of us, as we lecture and ridicule the ones who did the asking!

Sounds pretty damn clear to me. You too Suho?
Or is it ok to ask how to run cracked software.........sheesh.

Yeah, I thought it was clear, but apparently there are still some grey areas...

And yeah, that is a pretty interesting coincidence.

cfb: what are you dense?! Do you think putting a few silly tags around your message is going to make things better? Didn't you read what Doc said, or do you just not care?

If you want to share this sort of info, take it to e-mail, OK?

Unbe-freaking-lievable, cfb. No matter what your opinions are of those who are against piracy, Doc has already made his feelings very clear on the subject of warez discussions on this board, which, put simply, is DON'T DISCUSS THEM.

If you can't respect the wishes of the man who provides this place for us at his own expense, then go the hell somewhere else.

Once again, your own beliefs on what is legal and what isn't makes not one bit of difference when you've been told politely not to practice the trade of warez help/information here. Additionally, the sarcastic "Anti-Pirates Ignore Mode" tags are very much unappreciated and do not endear you to the rest of us, whether we hold your opinions or not.
