Preserved Topic: Navigation dilema (Page 1 of 1)

Guys.. I have a little dilema with navigation here...

I have a site with lots of links and for some reason I am stuck on that "jump menu" navigation with some nice css to it for better look instead of going with the whole image rollover fiasco...

What do you guys think??? I mean, I have like 14 links to other pages...

Wouldn't it be better to do a nice "jump menu" instead of doing the whole navigation bar deal? Help me make a decision here...

By "jump menu" do you mean like a dropdown box with pages listed?

I like these if say you have a "Products" page and then have a jump menu that lists all the different products on different pages. Kind of like what Symantec uses.

get the point...

It would allowe me to really make it easier for me and I think for the visitor, not to mention less work for me!!!!!!!

Ducati: Can we see it? I wouldn't recommend this for a full site navigation and I wonder if there is a better solution like the sliding boxes type that was mentioned recently. See:

hey Emperor.. not really.. you can't see it since its not close to be done...

I was thinking also about drop down menues like you have on that site, but it would be lot easier to do jump menue..

why wouldn't you recmmend it???

Yeah, I wouldn't use that for the entire sites navigation. It would make things a little confusing I would think. That and I just don't think it would look very professional.

Check out the FAQ about a menu called Brother Cake. That would be your best bet. IMHO
