From: Stockholm, Sweden | posted 07-01-2002 22:33 Actually, that font started out as "Kabel", just like my OZONE font was, once upon a time. What I do is start with the letters in Illustrator, spaced out nicely, and then I use "create outlines" to make them into paths instead of text. Then I think I started with rounding the corners just a bit, (fixing them up in several places), then I straightened out the tops and bottoms of the letter. Kable has just a wee bit of slant for the flat tops and bottoms, but I didn't like that for transforming to raster art. Then it was just a matter of stretching, twisting, and overlaying the shapes. The M and the A were propaply the most abused, I widened the base of those letters to give that whole "monolithic" feel. The .ai file is here in the http://www.ozoneasylum.com/work/ directory if anyone wants to poke at it. |
