Been in the IT/web-related stuff since -96
First as a system-manager for a nation-wide intranet serving 10.000 ppl that we specified and "ordered" from the internal IT-division.
Even back then we tied it into SAP and personell-systems creating automated user-profiles/searches and so on.

In 2000 I got on the startup-train as a webdeveloper/tech-projectleader, that held for a year, after that I went on to a "solid" company as a tech-projectleader/webdeveloper (note the order...).
Then they closed down our department in late April 2002, right now I'm searching for jobs and doing some freelance-web-stuff in the meantime.

Hauling hay, bailing hay, loading hay, unloading hay, helping clean out hay fields (anyone seeing the trend here...)
Also, working livestock, feeding (horses, cows, dogs, chickens, etc) when people go on vacation...
Umm, help run a hamburger stand at the annual hair for my neighbor, running data lines for a couple guys that work with AlphaCom (last job was a couple months ago, which had me running approx. 27,000 ft of data line over two weeks at the local human resources agency... fun fun... or not...)

And of course I live on a farm, which includes lots of fun and exciting (yea, right) work that I don't get paid for...

Then in my "spare time" I am at the Univ. full time working on a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Meanwhile, can't get a "real" job to save my life...

Synax, thats an old old sig, its just a sig that allows the edition of his best friends here through animation , sadly im not it . Which brings me back to my point that it is old and was made before I registered.

edit: by the way that sig is on a rotater synax...

Now if you're really astute, a flaw in that sig would be that he refers to the doc as "Doc Ozone," when really doc's alias is spelled "DocOzone."

So there .

I install windows, doors, siding and roofing for my father's home improvement company here in Michigan. It sucks during the winter! It's hard work, but the money is better than most professional careers.

I am also going to school for Graphic Design, and will complete in December. I am getting into website development as well and have been generating a slight income from it. Though not much, I find it relaxing, fun, and interesting and I would do it for free.

When I was 15, I worked for a company that manufactured armpit absorbing pads that you stick to the inner sleeve of your shirt. I am not very proud of this, but am proud of the fact that Kim Basinger was a big buyer for them. I had to count out 5 at a time, put them in a plastic sheeth and then seal them.

I have also been known to turn tricks at your local inner city alleyways.

BTW eyezaer, try using a HILTI with red loads for fastening to cement floors. Not only is it faster, but you can pretend you are blowing a hole through your boss' chest. Oh wait, that would be my dad! They are pricey though...

Well, the question is how do you make money...technically I'm in debt, so I don't make any money, suggestions welcome. Otherwise I make money stealing time on my dad's offset printing presses experimenting with photo-etched polymer plates, rare cotton papers, light sensitivive green inks, microprint, magnetic strips, and watermarking. Just kidding. Or something. My job, lets see...freelance and inhouse web design including full and partial sites and online product demos; print design including posters, brochures, partial book design, formal invitations, show flyers, business cards; illustration; yard work; and any combination of the above.

I work for SAP...at the moment, in the Customer Care dept. I am hoping that I'll get a shot at the Design Dept. for the Internet site from SAP (man, does it need a lot of work...wish I could show it to you guys, but you need a password...*sigh* This site is practically un-navigatable...and includes literally thousands of pages...our customers hate it...and so do I).

I won't go into all the jobs I've done before...the list is just too long, and some of it is classified, anyway. Before SAP, I was self-employed, with a small business in web-design, but that dream got cancelled...damn internet mafia.

I got a lucky break, and got hired by SAP. The past month (because of the economic situation here in Germany, or lack thereof), I had to fight very hard to keep my job...and beat out 5 others competing for the same position. They are now gone...I only survived because of my 'networking' skills...and it was a very near thing. Took a lot out of me...I'm pretty burnt out right now. But at least my contract for the next year got re-approved...thank god. Being out of work here in Germany right now is deadly, because nobody is hiring, just firing (or going bankrupt). Feel kinda sorry for the others, but them's the breaks. The current 'feeling' here is...somewhat down. Such in-fighting always generates bad 'vibes' in an office...esp. among the co-workers who were on good terms with those that got the axe...I guess they don't like me all that much...as if I was the reason for it all. Strange, how people react like that. Good thing my work is top notch (the best in this department), and that I've never been sick during my job here. All these things add up, believe me. That, combined with my good relationship with higher management, saved my behind. I'm also the only foriegner in my dept. - stranger in a strange land...

Right now, I'm technically listed as the system administrator for a Telecommunications company that handles PCS cellphones and has an ISP division. However, they've had me do everything from the company website to network routing and ISP sysadmin stuff.

It's actually a great job because I get to do a lot of things I wouldn't normally do in this position. And the shortage of qualified technical specialists here means that I'm in a pretty comfortable position.

But, as usual, I'm still overworked and underappreciated.
