Today at work I was updating the metakeywords on www.noh.se. I were to lazy to hardcode them in Notepad so I used Dreamweaver MX. I had edited the 1/2 of the pages when suddenly a win2k bluescreen appeared with the text "System HALT".
It rebooted but the bios screen never came up. Then I flipped the mainpower switch off/on but the dam screen was still black. When I cursed the hell I brought up on me I noticed that the screen standby light was flashing like wakkos bare but when coming out of a dark room. I pulled out the powercord of the screen from back of the computer and plugged it in and flipped it on. The beep was so high that it would succeed wakkos scream when looking down in a cold room. I grabbed the screen and noticed the burning sensation in my hand. I made a loud scream of frustration and behold myself from kicking it off the desk. finally when it had cooled down I replaced it with a other screen yet to find out that the cold dreadful evil of dreamweaver mx had wasted my computer too! I pulled of the graficcard and flipped on. The msi signal leds glow read meaning power on...not loading bios not loading os. Why!...Why had this dam company macromedia brought this on me. Their evil is unknown to man I just had a taste of it. I hope the mighty fist of God comes down and crushes their firewall and lets his vengius flow of ones and zeros infect their system with viruses and bugs so there software will be compared to nothing less than a retail microsoft application!
To just make my day perfect this machine was also used as an server and its unreplaceable.

So how was your day!

sucks for you Olseen, but Dreamwaver can not have been the cause of this.
A bluescreen under any windows NT descendant means that either there was an error in a driver, or in your hardware.
What you're describing sure sounds like a hardware issue, a fried something, through a power spike maybe.
And if it 'was a server and irreplacable', well, a wise man never put's all his apples into one bucket -> If it's important, there really really should be a backup one, apart from the fact that no one should be developing on the machine as well.

so long,

Yeah, DWMX had nothing to do with your problem, sounds like your graphics card is fried, everything should be fine once you replace it

I agree. Dreamweaver was just unlucky enough to be the program running when your hardware went down. Blame on the hardware.
Also, imo, don't blame Windows, be it XP or 2k.

Besides being a resource hog I have also noticed dreamweaver 2-4 seemed to have huge memory leaks. When I would run it side by side with photoshop for about 4 hours I would see that I was running at around 15% free by the end of the time frame, constant reboots were needed when using dreamweaver. I would also echo the others opinions that this was simply an unlucky coincidence rather than software causing hardware damage. Sorry to hear about your loss however...data loss sucks.

They called from the "repair firm" and said that the motherboard was wasted!
How can this happend it's not even one year old?
Luckily the guarantee covers it!

Dreamweaver wasted my MB!

That's why it fried, because it's new.
Old stuff doesn't fry, they have already passed the endurance test.

Another possibility is a bad cooling system. The motherboards and specially the processors get really hot these days. IF your system doesn't have three well-positioned fans at least (counting the one over the processor), you have a big chance of frying the MB and the processor. Anyway, newer MBs have sensors to detect overheating.
