I don't download much stuff (don't have a broadband connection...), but from time to time I'm looking for something, and KaZaA always does a good job for me.

Win MX here, spyware free, big community and the interface kinda reminds me of Napster back in the day i.e. tons of seasrch options. Check it out, I think you'll agree thats its pretty much the best option these days.

In the last year at University i think i've probably used every filesharing program available. I just had to take advantage of the T1 connection

So, here is Nolps' guide of his favourites...

Kazaalite - Kazza without the spyware. This is the one i use the most. I've never really had a problem finding anything from Kazaalite. I mostly download music and the occasional over priced piece of software **cough**PS7**cough**. I'll give it 3/5

Direct Connect - Absolutely amazing if you have a quick connection and a big hard drive. In the various hubs available to you there was nothing i couldn't find. Oh, and another thing, Direct Connect was the only place i could find the Final Fantasy Unlimted Anime. This gets a 5/5

edonkey 2000 - I was never really a big fan of this. A lot of people i spoke to who edonkey said they could find a lot of "underground" music. Not a lot more i can say coz i only used this proggy for a week or two.

WinMX - Another great program to rival Direct Connect. Million upon millions of users. The only thing i did find was that i was constantly queing for popular files. The sheer fact of the umber of users pushes this ones rating up. Hmmm, 4/5

mIRC - What can i say. Not only can you get files you want but you can chat with millions of people at the same time. I've never had a probelm with finding a perticular file on mIRC either. I think i'm gonna have to give this a 5/5

Thats enough for now. I dont really know why i posted this. I was just bored and need to do something...

I've been using Grokster lately.

It looks and works exactly like Kazaa but it searches a larger database of music.

I've had good luck with it so far.

Is *spyware* a real problem? What sort of information is Kazaa gathering, nothing dangerous I presume? Oh... and how do I tell if I have the lite version. I downloaded mine straight from Kazaa.

if you got it from kazaa then its not lite.

I dont no if its appropriate to give you the url on the board so I suggest a goggle search for Kazaa lite. I dont like ads all over my screen, Thats why i dont use the full version. Get adaware to clean up your registry after you get rid of Kazaa.
