I was wondering if anyone had any advice on relieving stress in the spot. I recently exploded on one of my friends and I am usually a very very docile and non-aggressive guy. I did it over the phone thankfully, but all my friends believe that if the guy had been there I would have tried to kill him.

Does counting back from 10 actually work?

Thanks.

you should really read about Self-Hypnosis for Stress/Anxiety Relievers...

cause after you train yourself, yes, counting to 10 or even to 3 will relax you in as much as you were when you go to bed.

Hmmm...breathe. Now breathe out. Repeat slowly, until said stress relaxes...

Works wonders...

Exercise. Preferrably hard exercise. Nothing relieves stress like a good workout.

Or sex, which falls into the above category, but has extra benefits.

As Suho1004 mentioned sex you should probably also try.... urmmm.... sex by yourself if no-one esle is to hand (as it were ).

And being British I am honour bound to say that a nice cup of tea will help.

The anger must be coming from somewhere so address the actual problem and don't take it out on other people. So if need be: cut down on caffeine, get more sleep, resolve any conflicts with friends or family, address the credit card bill, etc.

If that doesn't work - herbal teas, yoga and Tai Chi might be called for (or get a punch bag and beat the crap out of it every day).

Hhhmmm stress, I only once full stressed out that much I had chest pains and cus of the situation (family problems, etc) I found that talking about it was best. If I was you I would find out what is bothering you and talk about it with someone if it's that big, but if it's just due to a stressful day at work and stuff all things said above should do the trick.

But the best thing I found was doing something that take you mind of the stress, like playing a game, listening to music, breathing in out, etc!!!

I must agree with Suho tho about exercise. If it's little day-to-day stress try some exercise, it's work wonders. I have barbells, and little workbench I do daylily exercise with/on and it feels great after it, apart from your tired and aching a little . It's take your mind of stressful things and refreshes you and you mind, well it's does for me . But if you have chest pains, [b]DON'T TRY EXERCISE[b/] cus it might do more harm than good.

For on the spot, breathing I'll agree w/. I listen to music at my desk, something soothing, like Dido, but that's just me hehe. If you can, go take a run or something. That doesn't really help if you're at work but I hate running....I hate it enough that it takes my mind off whatever is stressing me out at the time. Apparently, according to my friend Melissa, if you love it, it does the same thing. Whataya know!

GL! I've blown up on people before--and I always feel awful later.

At least you're not a woman. When we do that people say "Oh, are you PMSing?" and can I offer a little advice? Don't ever ask that question. If we aren't, it pisses us off. It we are it pisses us off even more. Either way, you're screwed....gonna have to do something good to make up for it later on, believe you me.

Hehe. ^_^ Have a good one!

are you old enough to buy a glock? If so, exterminate your problem at the source.

Did you really have issue with the guy you blew up at? Something you were ignoring with him that you finially let get too big to supress or was it a random moment of hostility. If it was anything but random maybe you just need to address those issues with that person. If it was random the excercise option will work to a point but you need to address the cause. Why were you stressed?

As a side note, never, ever buy a glock...POS, overhyped gun.

shock theraphy and a straight jacket does wonders. But reading a book always seem to help me get rid of the stress when the shock therapy is unavailable.

Moaiz - Yeah it was actually issues that all came out at once. His girlfriend had come to me crying the night before hes quite the womanizer, and hes just been a little different around everyone lately... real secretive with all of us. The general consensus has been "Someone was going to do it, better it be from his best friend".

Zen computer gaming always does the trick for me.

It doesn't matter too much which game, as long as it one you've played a lot before. Action games work better though. Driving games are good and less dangerious than the real thing if your in that kind of mood. First person shooters works well too. I still keep a copy of Rogue Spear on my hard drive just for the zen value. I've played that game so much it's downright freakish how easy it all is for me now.

If that fails just add coffee... adding coffee to anything will make it all good. Well, except if you pour the coffee directly into the puter. That's bad. Don't do that. The puter don't like it none and ya just wasting coffee, which means I'll have to slap ya silly.
