tomeaglescz: Do I read that correctly? All that mountain of crap that fell on your doorstep was because you refused to fix their stupid mistakes? Or have I got the order of events wrong. |

Emp .. you just gave me an idea .. and some questions that need to be answered .. I'd give some details but I've forgotten what DB application one of our clients is using .. it's really REALLY outdated .. but now that I have an idea about what we might be able to do .. I'm looking into it .. thanks Emp |

InI .. it is outdated but I know there is a way to tie it in with SQL .. just takes alot of hours .. it's for a Stock Transfer company they have over 200k entrees or something rather .. I forget what DB application they are using .. but once I remember the details all find out whether or not it is possible to do .. because they have the money and I've got the bill .. hehe .. set me for the year! |

RammStein: InI is (as always ) right. As much fun as it would be to charge someone 6 figures to do the job I'd rather have a crack at automating it and save myself haing to do everything by hand (although for that money I suppose you'd get a couple of trained monkeys to do it [damn thats my downfall always with the trained monkeys ]). |

InI nailed it. You could have named your price and made them pay dearly for your services. If you really didn't want to work with them again, then they would have declined your offer. If you really didn't want to work with them again and they accepted... well the $$$ would have eased your discomfort quite nicely I should think. Great story! Thanks for sharing that |

RammStein: What I meant was get some money out of them now so if the project isn't doable you still get paid - but I suspect you are ahead of me on that one anyway |
