Preserved Topic: a kind of challenge (Page 1 of 1)

I have been tinkering around with some stuff, trying to combine 3d and 2d work and am working on recreating something from a fav film of mine,

just wondered if anyone else would be interested in recreating a scene/poster from a film using mixed medium and see what different folks come up with.

I posted it here as it encompasses pretty much all aspects of graphic work....

any thoughts ???

the project i am working on is still verz much a wip, still working in the 3d stuff at the moment,currentlz working on creating textures for the 3d models in photoshop, then gonna need some serious render time then post work. then bring it all back into photoshop for compositing, when i get that far i will post it here.

anyway michael what ya think of the idea????????

I think it's an interesting idea. I would like to hear more.

Hey guys read the post it says mixed medium..

It could be drawings etc...scanned into a pc then worked on in photoshop, just as long as there is a variety of methods used, 3d doesnt have to come into it if you dont use it, use those mixtures of methods that you work with...I cant draw or paint to save my life...but am trying my hand at it for this project .

Ok that said here is my idea for this.


Its not for prizes or anything like that just more of a challenge to use a combination of media or software to produce something from a favourite film. I am working on a poster from lord of the rings trying to recreate parts of the film in 3d (characters and scenes) and then make a collage from it into a poster using photoshop to put all the little pieces together.

Now thats what i am doing, you can choose to illustrate a character or scene from a film or maybe make up a poster that illustrates the film like you see in the cinema's etc. its your choice, but it should stay in theme with the film portraying the nature of the film...

Anyway pick your favourite or a film that inspires you and get creative...

hope that clears things up...(mumbles something about creating textures for horses is more difficult than he originally thought)
