antimatter IS fuel. after a while, you'll run out...don't worry! it's a pain! and don't waste your money buying antimatter, as it's easier/cheaper to just wait. you get more antimatter every hour. you'll have to look in the faq to see how much per hour....

There are plenty of places to setup camp around 17142 - when you get here I'll throw a few numbers at you

Apparently Gotterdammerung has made some enemies... I just heard a couple of players discussing them. Apparently, the Inventors of Death [SLH] are on some sort of quest to wipe out "the dreaded" GTD, and another player from The Horde's Grand Inquisition [HGI] commented that HGI was considering helping SLH on their quest. Fortunately, though (for the time being, at least), another SLH player pissed off this HGI player (his name is Ritualistic Suicide, by the way), so he's withdrawing support.
Update: Iron Knight, another member of HGI and currently the #2 player, has offered the HGI's assistance (I'm guessing he's the leader).
Wonderful, now a guy named Odar has offered the assistance of the United Federation of Planets [UFP]. So it looks like there are at least three teams now out to get GTD (and some pretty powerful teams at that). Should OZN or FRA perhaps launch a preemptive strike against one of these teams, or are we going to let GTD be the sacrificial lamb (OZN is currently third in the rankings, and getting involved in a full scale war at this point would probably not be helpful).
I must say that I enjoy how people freely discuss strategy and plans on channel #0.
(Another thing I learned from listening to the radio the other day--although I'm sure others probably knew this already--is that carrying fighters around with you costs extra fuel; 1 gram per 100 fighters, to be precise. My recommendation would be to leave your fighters at 17142 when you go out trading--especially if you have a stealth ship, like me :-).)
Heh, this is amusing. Iron Knight is offering assistance to Odar (of UFP), but only if he admits the errors of his ways and pledges to be the servant of HGI. These people crack me up. With any luck, they'll be too busy bickering amongst themselves to do any real damage. Still, the hunt is on for GTD... what are we going to do about it, if anything?

Yeah, I've made pretty much all these enemies myself. Theres a few other clans out to get GTD too, but none of them can really hurt us (it'd just waste all their fighters, and then they wouldn't be able to last long enough to win at the end - which most people seem to care about). I have ships in pretty much every galaxy scouting for any members of UFP, who I very much want to kill, as well as anyone ranked higher than my highest character (TerminateFighter) in the standings.
I'd suggest OZN and FRA just mind their own, if we're going to get attacked, theres no use hurting the teams that are supposed to be winning for us. At the end (like with less then 3 days to go), if its still a problem, then maybe everyone builds as many new fighters as they can (to reach 16) and use all the new fighters to scout, and we kill everything we see.

Sounds good to me.
But killing anyone higher than you in the rankings? You're ranked #79--that's a whole lot of killin'.
I've only got 7,000 something fighters at the moment, but I've got a good amount of dough. I'll have plenty more when the end comes, so if necessary, I can go a-huntin' too. But I'll just bide my time until then and make lots of money...

Well team OZN lost its main starbase:
quote: CIVILIAN CASUALTY killed your Starbase at 17142 (you earned 480000 reputation points)
[edit2: and again:
quote: CIVILIAN CASUALTY killed your Starbase at 20752 (you earned 240000 reputation points)
1000 fighters were killed in 20752 (you earned 200000 reputation points)
I seem to have a target on my back [/edit]
and as I've only just logged in I suspect they must have gone through at least another one of my starbases too
[edit: and that is obvious with another team OZN character:
quote: MUNKY FLUNKY killed your Starbase at 17654 (you earned 240000 reputation points)
1250 fighters were killed in 17654 (you earned 250000 reputation points)
MUNKY FLUNKY killed 1217 of your fighters (you earned 243600 reputation points)
MUNKY FLUNKY destroyed your starship.
I think you all know the drill by now]

Suho1004: It does indeed suck
Anyway I have ships ready if anyone sights them. I've already got another character belonging to those players
As the main starbase is destroyed at 17142 I'd recommend people go to 19833. I have started building the starbase back up and thrown some fighters in but that sector has probably been scouted and that many ships might be tempting for some people.
We also need a starbase on 25095 which is one of the other upstream sites from 17142 which got wiped out the other day.

Having depots named after you doesn't mean anything. These are named and renamed all the time depending on who stops at them last. It just means that he/she passed through there. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You mean nudging a depot into a planet's sector and then auto-scooping it? Yeah, that's a good tactic, but it has nothing to do what you were talking about above. Getting a depot or a planet named after you doesn't mean anything in game terms, really. I know you get planets named after you if you land on an abandoned planet, but I'm not really sure how depots get named after you. At any rate, someone else having a depot next to one of "our" planets doesn't mean anything--it's not as if we can't use the depot (and, likewise, it's not as if he can't use the planet). The only way you could prevent people from auto-scooping the planet would be to build a starbase, but that seems a bit extreme in this case.
So, if you're still worried about the depot, you can put your mind at ease.
If you're just talking about something else, though, I guess I'll just shut up now.

here's info on the homing device and how it works:
quote: Homing Devices: Homing devices are radio transmitters that, when signaled, emit coded radio transmissions to their owner revealing their location. Homing devices can be purchased at any Trading Post and cost the same as cargo holds, shields, and combat computers. You can also have any homing device removed from your own ship's hull at a Trading Post. Attack another ship, then type H to attach a homing device to the ship. Each homing device counts against the total number of devices allowed by your ship type. However, only one homing device can be attached to any particular ship's hull. Attaching a second homing device to a ship will result in the removal of the first device. Retrieve your homing devices the same way.
Homing Device Launcher: Homing devices are radio transmitters that, when signaled, emit coded radio transmissions to their owner revealing their location. A HDLauncher (Homing device launcher) can also be purchased at a Trading Post, costs the same as cargo holds, and will allow you to deploy homing devices in unguarded sectors. Those homing devices will automatically stick to any other ship that enters the sector -- that doesn't already have a homing device attached to it. Deployed homing devices are reported by the Y command, 'Your deployed forces. In addition to the HD launch command that shows up when appropriate, you can also launch a homing device by typing H in the text box, telnet, or client.
hope that helps

i have a bit of a tip: if you have a homing device on you...then no one else can put one on you....SO....have team mates put one on you! then don't remove it! so....if anyone from team OZN or FRA would throw out 2 homing devices for me tomorrow....i would be greatful! i will do that for whoever needs one also!
also...since emps hasn't posted yet (slacker!): for those of you who don't know, i have another team [LAX] in another galaxy. it's got 14 players (all me) and i used that team today to sort of get in the the HGI? team.....it worked out great. i'm just becoming friends with them and have agreed to exchange information reguarding our GTD team. obviously, any info they get from me, will be tainted. but, the info i get from them is very valuable!! emps monitored (and recorded, i believe) my conversations with them today on private radio channels (he nearly buggered it LOL). i haven't yet found out where they have their main base, as i'm still trying to 'get in' with them.
so...just in case you see me 'talkin smack' over the #0 radio channel...DON'T STRESS! any info i get about anyone here will obviously be passed on to that person and/or posted here ASAP! since emps and i are usually on at the same time...i'm sure he'll be monitoring the radio for me (cuz i need someone to tell me what to say LOL)
ok...i'll leave it at that for now....i think emperor is going to post the radio stuff at some point. maybe after it's edited a bit as it's quite large!
so....this is good news for all of us i think.
again...don't forget to scrape your hulls on a regular basis until we all get team homing devices!
