Hey:

I went to BIOS settings and accidentally set my system password to something, but I don't know what.

how can I clear that password?

The details depend on the brand and model of motherboard, but the concept is the same for most.

On the motherboard there can be a jumper that you either remove or shift to another position, and/or you remove the battery from the motherboard. You may need a magnifying glass to read the labels next to the jumpers. The one you need usually is marked BIOS reset or CMOS reset or words to that effect. Batteries are generally coin-shaped but there are some that have tiny wires leading to a tiny plug.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but every model differs slightly.

What all does resetting the MB actually do? I assume I'd have to assign my Drives and whatnot again, correct?

Yep, and that's about it. Anything you had to configure when you originally built your computer, you'd have to configure again. Usually not a big hassle.

If you can figure out the model of your mainboard, you can usually find documentation online. It might not be in very good English...
