Okie.. some of you are already very familiar with this... some are not...

A few months ago, an Italian graphics forum started up something called an "International Board Competition" (IBC for short).
They sought out 5 other boards to "compete" against each other in a photoshop competition with a specific theme, rules, and guidelines.
Each board was allowed to submit ONE team that would represent them for the competition.
Each team was comprised of 5 members voted on and selected of the represented board.
***This time around only 3 members will be allowed per board.***

When each team had been determined... the challenge was issued.. and lasted approximately 3 weeks.
Each team used their own methods of secretly working on the collaborative image until the competition deadline.
At that point, one member from each team contacted the other teams and they exchanged the URL's to the completed images.
New threads were started at each board, where a voting system was put in place and members of each forum voted on the images within the competition.
After the votes have been tallied and a victor is determined... it's up to the winning board to pose the next challenge.


For those of you seeking the shortest version of how it all works...
Here ya go:
Basically there are multiple boards involved.
Each board votes on 3 individuals to represent them in the competition.
Then a theme is provided to all the boards participating... with specific guidelines.
The image is then created in photoshop within the specified guidelines by the competing boards.
Then we post up all the images and vote on which one you like best.
We tally the votes and that determines the winner.

Teams need to be sorted out, established, and POSTED IN THIS THREAD prior to May 1st... that is when the IBC will begin, the theme will be issued to all the teams, and the time limit put in effect.

The last team that represented the Asylum was:

I'm not sure about Doc, Mahjqa, or Izz... but Nax and I have opted not to be a part of the selection process this time around.... so don't bother voting for us. (As Drac was a member of the GN's team last time... it would seem he's not up to being voted in again)

What you need to do ----
List only 5 individuals that you would like to represent the Asylum in this competition.
In a few days, the members submitted by everyone will be rummaged through and sorted to see which 3 will be the team this time around.

I'd like to see a bunch of different people this time round so I've excluded anyone that was in either the GN or the Asylum team last time. But don't let that stop yah from voting for them. Oh and remember that some of the regulars here will be more likely to play for the GN than the asylum so if you could keep the nominations to people who maily only post here then that'd probably be better but again, not really necessary.

Any idea on what the theme would be for this time around? I think we'd be better off voting for people based on a theme. I think that way we'd be voting for who we'd think would both best represent The Asylum and best produce with the theme.

I second Dracusis's list.

Inisder - the reason the theme has not been announced is to avoid exactly that scenario.

The team should be comprised of people who are equipped to deal with whatever challenges arise, and not tailored specifically to the individual challenge.

You list 5 people you'd like to see on the team. You're not necessarily voting for "the team". Just a list of people you'd like to see on it.

The top three listed people - if they're interested - get on the team.

InSiDeR: .....hhhmmm...... that's right pick on my voting..... .. Anyway I never really read most of this topic just glanced over it and since most people here have already voted for mahjqa after he said no, I thought I would too, as it could change his mind . AND as for Sharma, yes she (is that right Sharma is a she? sorry if it's wrong) has been here a long time, but she has so little posts as well as Amerasu & Kine (and maybe hugh as well). But they all have great skills and great ideas that I would like to see used, if they wanted to be in this IBC.

Just my vote and I'm entitled to have my vote, if you want to criticise on my vote talk to my lawyer/s...... .

Well, truth be told WS, if I get voted in over at the GN I'm going to take that place instead. I don't feel a part of this board anymore, as I detest the lion's share of people here or I have no clue who they are (or think they are at the least).

Of the "old folks" that I care for here, a bunch are over there, and even more are just on my personal ICQ So I'll take a no this time around, but thanks for the votes guys.

A bit of a bump.
We'll give another day or so, and then see where things stand... at that point if folks who have been voted onto the team cannot participate for various reasons, there will be time to ensure the next in line can fill their spot.
