For those of you who are into movies, you may have heard of Director, Cameron Crowe (Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous, Jerry Mguire). Well it appears that he's making a movie called Elizabethtown, in MY FUCKING CITY OF ELIZABETHTOWN KENTUCKY. Yes you read correctly, Mr. Crowe is coming to my town to make a movie, w00t!

I think I've flaunted this before but for those of you who don't know, I hope to be a director someday, and having the Director of two of my favorite movies (Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous) is like a fucking gift from that god I don't believe in.

Story is here Or http://www.cameroncroweonline.com/films/elizabethtown/press/newsenterprise.htm

I think Insider has already done a good enough job of that one.

I saw that Natalie Portman's name is rumored. Get me a date with her and I might think better of you. heh

I'm assuming everyone is going to want to meet the actors and not Mr. Crowe, so maybe it will be easier to meet the director? I dunno, I hope =).

maybe if it were someone more impressive...... (surely I'm not the only one who thought vanilla sky was a terribly lame movie....?).

But hey, if that's what you're into, then cool - see what you can do. I'm sure they'll need plenty of extras...

Actually, regardless of how crap many of us perceive many Hollywood movies to be, the people involved in actually making them show that they at least know how to produce a movie of that size which is a fairly massive feat in its own right.

Having tried my hand at writing, direction, production and editing for various amateur short films I know how difficult it is to make a film even mildly competent. I'd say this sounds like a good chance to learn a thing or two about how the wheels turn towards the top of the ladder and that you should try and milk it for all you can get. Perhaps the director needs another coffee boy?

Extras are a dime a dozen, and they get treated like cattle in the grand scale of things so you might have better luck asking around to see if there are any volunteer behind-the-scenes work you could sign up for.

Psst!

Eh?

So, you live your life by the quotes of fictional movie characters?

Anways, I emailed Mr. Crowe. Tellin him about meh, livin in E-Town, a sophomore, 15 years of age, wanting to be his coffee boy... I really did tell him that too . I'm highly anticipating a reply... But I have a feelin' I won't get one . I can only hope, though.
