Xcom is calling out for recruits from all around the world to help against the alien threat!

Alright in this thread I am asking for volunteers that would like to have their names used in my XCom game. I will post regularly about the progress made, ranks gained, kill counts, and soldiers that are KIA along with any other items that you wish.

If you are wondering about my astoundingly low post count it is simply because I have just been lurking around these boards for over a year now. I think this may be the first time I have actually started a thread and I think this will be a fun idea.

Sure, I play X-Com: UFO Defense and rename my marines to the names of posters in this thread, then I post the outcome of said marines. Seriously, it's fun and fairly interesting.

X-Com is an old school (early-mid 90's) turn-based action/adventure game, hailed as one of the greatest games of all times.

First Mission - Small ship shot down #1

Alevice was Third out of the Sky Ranger but first to see the alien in the field. With a well placed shot she was able to quickly dispose of it.

Emperor, Phyre Hazard, Alevice, and Morph were the investigating team into the small crashed ship. Phyre Hazard was first in and discovered an alien waiting for him. Missing all three of his shots, Phyre Hazard was forced to retreat and Alevice came in to take his place. She was able to hit the alien two times, killing it.

Second Mission - Aliens Terrorize Washington DC!

This mission Emperor finally came out of his shell and showed off his ability to tag aliens from a distance. Emperor picked off 3 floater aliens all of them long range.

Morph was coming around a corner when he was ambushed by a floater, luckily he was able to dodge all three shots and land one of his own.

Phyre Hazard picks up the assist when hitting the alien without killing it. Alevice was there luckily to clean it up

3 Floaters were neurtalized by other soldiers.

Morph was first into the landed craft and quickly disposed of the 4th floater.

Fourth Mission- Small Ship Lands in Eastern Europe


Sadly, Morph was KIA while dispatching an alien in the ships engine room. After killing the small sectoid another came out from behind the alien power source and shot him. He was quickly avenged by Phyre Hazard.

Morph, you will be missed.

On the light side, this was a very good mission for Phyre Hazard who was able to get three kills. Keep up the good work marine.

Forgot about this thread, but glad to see my guy has finally got his a$$ in gear and killed something. Mom would be so proud.

One small grievance though... it's phyreHazard, not Phyre Hazard. See? One word, no space, and the 'H' is capped while the 'p' is small. It's really better that way and makes the name flow more... I suspect the mis-printing of it was what was holding my dude back in the beginning. But now that he seems to be picking it up, I'd hate to harsh his groove by a mid-game name change. Could be disasterous... dunno.

There are other Marines. I run squads of 14, there were 10 other marines that are not from the Asylum. As marines die Asylumites are brought in as reinforcements

Fifth Mission - Crash Landing over Northern Africa

Alevice was first into the ship, killing one alien and then layed supressive fire as the other squad member entered the downed ship.

Skaarjj followed Alevice and blasted a floater in the chest killing it instantly.

Counterfeitbacon was next in, killing the last two floaters.
