Our beautiful daughter, Vivian, was born last Wednesday morning, 23 October 2003, at 7:05. She weighed 7lbs 6oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. She has a head full of mostly dark brown hair, with some auburn highlights. Labor was surprisingly quick, a mere 8 hours. Mom and baby are both doing very well. (Let this next statement cause no wrath among other parents in the house) Vivian sleeps very well, generally only waking once between 11:00 and 7:00 to eat. Other than sleeping and eating, Vivian enjoys making wet and dirty diapers for her daddy to change, and slobbering a lot. Mittens, Vivian's feline (and much older) sister, is adjusting well. Being a crabby 18 year old cat the crying gets to her every once in a while, but overall the two get along well. Our friends and family have all been wonderfully helpful, bringing us cooked meals every night since we've been home from the hospital. We have more food in our fridge now than we've had anytime in the last 9 months! Thank you all for your words of support and well wishes. Pictures will be ready in just a few hours. -daddy
