This is a logo I made for a new local Skate Park. I am looking for some feedback on it. Thanks.

I could see the white portion of the down arrow light up onmouseover...heheh

It looks a little plain, but obviously you don't want something flashy there. I like the text for the 59 and the arrow is kinda cool, but the thing that REALLY bugs me is the color scheme. Green and red? Perhaps you might want to find a color besides green... it just doesn't seem to look right over the red. The red, on the other hand, seems very appropriate, and goes well with the text.

The logo's great and I especially like the text you used for the 59. I think you should do something to the arrow though. It looks a little plain there compared to the text, but either way its cool. Are you creating the website for the Skate Park too or are you strictly doing a logo?

Actually I disagree with Human Shield's opinion on the color scheme. You hafta remember that this is a logo for a skate park, an aggressive skate park. Basically the rules of design go out the window with this one. Your not designing for a major corporation but grungy kids, and it fits better then if it was matching colors or something.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of green, and I think red goes really well with green.

A little background on the park. The kids came up with the name and voted on it. They picked Exit 59 because that is the freeway exit you would take to get to the park. Also, it had a cool ring to it. It sounded like something you would name a skate park that would be more unique than Cedar City Skate Park or something like Grind Hard Skate Park. So with the term "exit" in mind I was thinking road signs. That is where the arrow came from and why it is plain looking. I wanted to use a font with a little serif to give it a little more demension yet still look solid and blockish. The 59 is where I wanted it to get wild like a skate park should be. The 59 font is one I d/l'd from a font site.

Another thing I am excited about with this logo is the potential for FLASH. As soon as I learn how to do more than Open FLASH I'll work on something for it.

I am also doing the website for Exit59. It will be www.exit59.com as soon as PHR0ST gets it setup for me. I'm still learning the whole web admin thing. I'll post when the site launches. Right now I'm working on the layout for it. Tables are KILLING me!!! At least I'm learning <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

oohhh... skate park stuff. i've been doing a lot of photography at the local skate park lately, one of my friends is in the process of trying to get sponsored and asked me to snap oodles of pictures. fun stuff indeed.

okay, that's not the logo i'd have in mind for a skate park at all, sorry. if you want my easy solution, enlist someone from the park that's got a damn fine hand when it comes to tagging. well i'm personally big into graffiti and i draw lots of correlations between graffiti/skateboarding in our current popular culture.

the arrow isn't my favorite.. i've seen a lot of better arrows done, plus they're very cliche. i don't think green is a good color choice, unless it's for green buds or something. the red and black are flash colours, i'd maybe change the green to orange.

if this is a logo for the web page, i'd definitely be using photograph in the logo. i don't know if you can shoot for shit, if not ask around the skate park. hell, half the kids in the world think they're gonna be sponsored someday.. so they all got photographs of them pulling their best tricks. ask to borrow some, kids will be happy for the free promotion of their stuff anyways.

i'd like to see where you go with the logo, have fun.

Yeah flash! That's the ticket and that's what I was thinking about when I suggested a mouseover for the arrow...it goes from plain and *kablam* it's rocking and rolling!

Hey Blook can you tell me the name f that font because I think it really looks awesome with the right effects used on it.

The font is either chicken scratch or AnArChY. They should both be in that web page URL I post above.

Work on the exit59.com website is comming along nicely. I'm proud of it, mostly because I have learned a lot about tables doing it <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif"> There was a problem with registering the domain so it will be a little while longer till it is up and running.

As a skater myself, I would have to second the graffiti idea. The 59 is awsome, as common sentement sugests, but I would do something with the arrow.

And, I think that the color 'green' is fine, but the green you are using is too bland. I think it needs to be a little lighter and more defined. IMO
