Woa there!! $500 bucks or a digital camera for telling only 10 people to visit a website? That sounds outrageously too good to be true... are you sure this is legit? |

It was most obviously a little thing I like to call *sarcasm*. This is just another pyramid scheme, not unlike the numerous emails I get every day telling me to send $5 to an address and I'll start recieving money really soon. |

Actually, the cookie thing is older than the web, way older. My Mom brought home a copy of the recipe, she got it as a fax at work and it was making the rounds of her office. This was back in the late 70's, I belive? For reference, I tried baking those cookies, and they really sucked. Dry, tasteless and boring. |

while back someone wanted the cookie recipe from neiman marcus and asked someone who worked there for it, she said it'd be some riduculously small amount of money, she ended up getting billed for a ridiculously large amount of money, so she put the recipe into a mailing list and sent it to virtually everyone in the world. |

it's actually a big urban legend... the recipe that is distributed across the internet is not the real recipe for neiman marcus chocolate chip cookies. i've had the cookies from neiman marcus and they're better than the recipe and definitely different content. on the other hand, the recipe for the real cookies isn't a big secret either--if i recall correctly, the recipe is located in a cookbook or two. |
