I dig it, though scanlines are kinda overused and not changed much... I've got a tutorial (more of an article, really) about that, I'll get it published as soon as I can.

Anyway, I dig the colors--blues have always been my favorite.

I actually made the scanlines in JASC Paint Shop Pro then pasted them into a new layer and overlayed it...or did I just group it with the original pictures in circle fragments layer...

Am I getting good yet?

Uh..well, I don't pretend to know if people are "good" or not, but in this case, I'd need to know a few things before I can even say if I like it.
(And I'm being completely serious for the rest of this, it isn't a "slam" of any sort)

Like what the hell is it...and why does it seem like a tossed together blurry reference to...what?...the foo fighters?

I agree with twitch on scanlines being overused as a "main" graphic effect. The colours seem a bit weak, and the lettering seems contrasting to the blotchy, blur of the rest of it.

But maybe that's what you're going for?

I think if you're asking people to judge something, maybe tell them what, and why it is, and what merit you want it judged on.

For all I know it could be a brilliant, simplistic graphic that makes a poignant statement about it's meaning.....
or it could be another try hard, blurry, scanlined hack graphic.

Dunno. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

It was supposed to be a techno looking windows background graphic for a chatter named "Foo"...I see what you mean about the text, I just thought it might look cool, and I like the overal effect.

Well then, if FOO likes it, then it's great! <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

All people here can really do, is give their opinions, and comment on technique. Commenting on what's "good" or not, is subjective...and hell if you ask if it's considered art, then everyone's screwed <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

As for an opinion, noted above with he text, and the colours. As for technique, it's a realtively simple thing to do in PS...but then a lot of simple things can make some of the best graphics.

Commentary: It's a nice looking graphic with a couple minor flaws (opinion again)

Advice: Keep working, because you seem to be getting better, and easier with the programs.

And like I said..if FOO loves it, then it's met it's purpose perfectly <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif">
