Well, I finally decided to make a sig for this wacky place.
Suggestions welcomed, but I don't want to put too much time into it; it's just a sig, after all...

wow the refelections look awesome. The Das text sorta kills it. Perhaps you could do somethign a little different to it?

Since there are people untold times cooler then me already saying how nice your reflections are, I won't bother saying anything about them, it is a nifty design, but the scale is wrong i think(try smaller). And the das makes it look like you took someone elses graphic and threw up Das over it, maybe work the das into one of the pill thingies or behind them... looks solid though

postscript: Where did you learn how to do that, and what method did you use?

Ok, nobody liked the 'Das', and it was too big. How's this one? I incorporated the letters into the glass pills, and cropped the empty space on the top and bottom. I think the size is comparable to many of the other sigs on the forum. I'd reduce it more, but it loses a lot when the detail shrinks out of sight.

Oh, and the reflections are just a reflection map. Nothing special, I think it came with KPT5. "Cool Kitchen"

das: looks good with the pumped up levels, but i'd say try to make the glass pills smaller... those are just too big for the forum (in my ever so fucking humble opinion).

maybe cut it in half to 50px tall? i dunno.. looks pretty nice, except on closer examination the letters are kinda buggy. the drop shadow or outer bevel (or whatever) is kinda funky, how they go in to the middle.. but it just doesn't look that great.

of course i offer no easy fixes, and you might like it that way =D

Totally awesome man. KPT 5 is a great filter set, I just choose not to use filters and do it the hard way.

hey Das... i thnk it would rock if you used the last 3 pills from your first sig and put your name under them.. in orange hangin out on the red background..

Nevex - I didn't say I used KPT5, I just got the reflection map from the goodies folder that came with KPT5. This was done in Max with an exotic faux-glass material I came up with.

Mikey - Doing a random check of various sigs, I found the max was about 100 pixels (Nevex's, for example, is 103). Mine may look bigger becuase of its proportions. I'll drop the size a bit on the next version.
I noticed the glitch on the vertical side of the D, and a bit on the S. I think I'll just drop the depth from the letters entirely, and just go with a gold/copper foil look.

Das, personally I think your sig looks fine the way it is, although it could be a little smaller but whatever. I would drop the shadow on the text. It looks cool though.

It looks less like drop shadow than it does an indicator of text depth without shadow, but I could be wrong.

Maybe I mis read yoru post, but it can be done in kpt 5 the same way. No big, its cool looking regardless of the program it was made in.
