Sadly, the people working at Xoom are jerks. You can't link to an image in Xoom from the outside; they don't want to waste the bandwidth. Instead, try giving us a hyperlink to the image. Just post its address.

Yah, hate to say it but I agree bigtime. Flares and such are cool at first, but too many of them looks cheesy. Good start though, now tone it down a bit and let's see v.2!

Free hosts, don't you just hate it.
For anyone struggling with likning images from a free host, check out www.i12.com who I use and don't havea problem with. They're great apart from the fact that you have to use them as your ISP when you want to upload something. (Okay if you just want to keep you sig files there though)

By the way, to return to subject for just a moment. . .
Barry, lose the lens flares, and the text you have underneath looks pretty good I think. It might be okay on its own.

barry: i'd say the 3rd is my favorite, because of the texturing on the font and it seems like a more subdued glow. it still needs work, i'd try making less of a glow and playing with the letters and their placement perhaps.

Well, *personally*, I could live with it. I still don't think it's incredibly tasteful, but I know some people don't mind so I usually don't make fusses over stuff like this. I dunno, could you at least make the image smaller or something?

Oh, and to Barry: I like how the third one there has a visible texture inside the letters. Reducing the glow might be a good idea. Maybe add one of those bright flashy things - only one though.

Barry-I'd go with number 1, knock off some of the glow, and put it on a transparent bg.

I would just like to say that I am proud of all of us. The thread was started by someone asking for genuine interaction, and he got it. You all *did* go off course in terms of topic, but you kept the topic INSIDE of the breast references. So, the question is whether or not after 20 posts the thread has lost the original topic or not. I say it hasn't--it's just had some addons. I'm just so durned proud I could cry.

Lose the twinkle, and make it blend a little more into the background, and youll have your self a sig, tits would be nice though. How old are you slime? im 16, and i was looking at warez sites with my mom about a month ago. It was a horrible experience. There were "britany spears cum facial ads EVERYWHERE" the graphic ones too, and the list of celebs and whats being done to each one. We'll, wasent a good experience, hope you dont have to go thru it.

Barry, the twinkle is still too much--on that blue hued background, they're too bright. Also, I'd cut the sig so that there's less below and above the actual word. But past that, you're getting closer, meester...

Oh, and often we tailor our sigs to match Ozone, since he's our God. I'd also suggest changing the hue to match this copper/orange stuff.

And to continue the thread-within-a-thread here, my computer is in my house. Which is away from my parents house. And that makes me happy. I can look at porn all day and never see any ill effects, save for my Visa bill.

barry, that's pretty slick.. you've made a lot of progress with it i think.

now i'd just apply some sort of texturing to the edges on the image, and have it with a transparent background, so in the message board it'd look like the sig was not all there.

i hope that makes sense, maybe someone could post a more technical example if they agree?

Hi Barry! OK, I'll drift right off the subject of breasts, I already have a girlfriend. ;-)

Barry, I liked the sigs with the black backgr5ound best, I thought they had the best potential. When dealing with the background, it's also necessary to think about the frame of the image, will it look like it belongs there, or simply pasted on top? If you'll look at some of the sigs that seem coolest, they all tend to use a lot of "negative space", that is, they use big hunks of the image space that are really no image at all, just *space* between elements, dig?

Now, let's say your sig was longer and less tall, like this...



Here we would have two things happening with the background. First, the background fades away to the right, becoming *this* background (mostly) Second, there's actually a one pixel line of shading around the background that is, giving it a more 3D box shape. Look good, Barry, but change the background color from black to the average of the two background colors on this forum. I'm pretty sure that color is Red: 43, Green: 4, Blue: 4.

Never let people realize that your images are rectangular. If you can make it look like your image is part of what it's in front of or next to, you should do so.

Like slime said, make the background an average of the two forum background colors, but then make the solid part transparent so it blends more.

Wow I had such a laugh reading all the "titty" comments. As I mentions in a previous thread, I only did that sig. for a laugh, and everyone voted for it so there it was.
Anyway, point taken, I forgot that such a large proportion of this group were so young (did I mean prudes?, no surely not). Seriously though, I think it's time to move to one of the other sigs. I made.

Barry, excellent progress with the sig. One minor niggle thats bugging me, is there anything you could do the the blurred edges, it just seems to be lacking something. I have no idea what but that is just my opinion

Sigs comming along nicely Barry. I would listen to what Slime said about taking the average of the two colors. Sorry if any of us affended or bothered you La'd. I guess a large portion of this forum, not including me of course, just arent used to seeing women, hell DL's programs get more action then he does.

Hey, my girlfriend is a major league web designer! Funny, when I was working in the states it was hard to find many girls who did this kind of stuff professionally, maybe the atmosphere (definitely geeky-guy, never see many girls kinda atmosphere, heh) had something to do with it. Now that I'm in Europe, the breakdown is different, much m0ore of an even split, Programmers are maybe 40/60 girl/guy, and Graphics people are slanted the other way around, it seems.

La'd, please don't take any of the silly comments or sillier attitudes here too seriously, we may all be a bit crazy, but this is one of the saner groups I've run across, and definitely friendlier than most! I like it here, hopefully you will too. Welcome to the Asylum, we're glad to have you!
