Does anyone have an image of fire on a black background that is roughly 9"x11" at 300dpi that would be willing to give me a copy???

I have been looking for something lihe that for awhile also.

Make it yourself...I can tell you how.
I just wanna try something first.

My computer ***0rs.
try this though:
1. make your image in whatever size/res you want
2. Do some black and white clouds
3. rotate and wind until you've covered all sides
4. repeat step 3 again.
5. blur a little(maybe) and add some ripples
6. then switch to indexed color
7. go to color table and select "Black Body" as your table
8. That should work.

That is however an easy photoshop way to create fire. There is no arguing that. It may look a little created, but what do you expect from it. It is quick and easy.

If you want something that is "real" that would take some time, and experiementation. So I don't believe he is going to outline that for you.

I tend to agree that the best way to go would be to take a picture of fire and scan it. However, I was hoping someone might have taken the time to do so already and spare me the work of burning myself just to get some **** graphics.... LOL

you *have* to have seen Doc's "bigfire.jpg" by now, right??

he uses it all over in his graphics, and so do lot's of other people (myself included!)

if you haven't, go to his site and find his images index...it's in there and it's the best pic of fire you can hope to find quite frankly.

they're definitely not big enough for boudga, unless he wants to get really really creative with them...

oddly enough i don't have photos of fire (only cool video of a lumber yard fire at night i saw once.. when i just happened to have a s-vhs cam in my car to film it all), otherwise i'd scan you some stuff.. sorry.

I know...What I said does look really cheesy, but it's simple and easy...
that's pretty much all you're gonna get out of photoshop without trying real hard or going out an getting some crappy eyecandy filters...I've been thinking about actually going out an getting those.

Why not just go outside, take a shit load of gas, a camera that takes pictures fast, drop about 2 gallons of gas in a line, and light that shit up, you'll get a huge fire wall, if someone sends me 20 bucks for insurence, ill do it

Hell, ok, where ya live, i thought about doing it today, but i didnt want to burn the hell outa the grass, i gotta digital camera. but it take like 4 seconds in between shots for it to write the image on the card. I anticipate, that if you lay donw enough gas, and time it right, i could fill a 1280x 1074, or what ever that res is. with nothing but fire, wouldnt that be the shit, eh? If anyone wants to try something a bit less dangerous to get a cool fire/mushroom cloud affect. Take 3 model rocket engines, somehoe get the hard ass paper off of the insides. Then take the gray stuff and and smash it all up, you should have a fairly big pile. Now take a cinder block, pour it in a pile on top of it, pour a line of gas about 10 feet away, light it and get ready with the camera. If you have onbe of the really fast shutter type cameres that can whiz thru a role of film in like 5 seconds, just start takin pictures really fast. you can make a sweet animated gif. This ir relitivly not dangerous, because the first time i did it, i was like 3 feet from it, and all i remember was a big fire ball in my face, really cool shit.
