| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: Massachusetts, USA | posted 09-19-2000 19:35 I'll post a few more examples of the kinds of effects you can get from curves when I get some stuff done at home. If anybody tries this, I'd certainly be interested to see the results. |

| Nervous Wreck (II) Inmate From: H-Town.TX.USA | posted 09-20-2000 17:09 Along the lines of metal effects... I was messing around just now, and I came up with this. What do you guys think of the "metal?" It's my first attempt at any kind of metal, so go easy on me, ok? |
| Bipolar (III) Mad Scientist From: Camillus, NY, USA | posted 09-20-2000 18:53 Try doing the curves thing that HS did up top...it just seems to plain to be metal |
| Nervous Wreck (II) Inmate From: H-Town.TX.USA | posted 09-20-2000 19:31 Yeah, I was just looking at the contrast on it. (Looks totally different with this background color.) Actually, that was done using curves. |
| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: Massachusetts, USA | posted 09-20-2000 19:33 Here's one of my old sigs I did with the trick. |
| Lunatic (VI) Mad Scientist From: the Psychiatric Ward | posted 09-22-2000 01:16 well... if any body is still interested in metal tutorials, for more of a beat up style, go to... http://www.tutorials.descent4.net/photoshop/metal1/ |
| Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: | posted 09-22-2000 16:25 Dude! I have been searching high and low for that tutorial! I came across it a long time ago and took some (incomplete) notes on it. Alas, I did not bookmark it or even remember how I got there. |

| Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: | posted 09-24-2000 16:11 I've read DG extraordinary tutorial, but it's a bit too involved for my tastes. I'm not that much into metal, so quick and sleazy suits me just fine. I've archived DG's tutorial so, when I go through a metal phase, I've got plenty of ammo. |

| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: the states | posted 09-28-2000 18:16 Tyron, How do you do that orange fire looking sig in photoshop? Can you point me to a place I could learn that? |
| Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: | posted 09-29-2000 13:45 Curves. I've had some success using curves to achieve the effect. I still have to refine it, but that's how I duplicated it. Start with a B&W (one flat layer) and then go to Curves. Set the white RGB to yellow (or whatever) and the black end to the background. Then play with the middle a little bit to tweak. |
| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: the states | posted 09-29-2000 17:58 Cool, I will give that a try. |
