The point was to maek the finishwith PS. The 3D program by itself doesn't cut it.

I think Weadah just might have a box of matches laying around for those cigs.

it doesnt look 'real'. if that's what you're after.
if the ciggies are supposed to be lying on the bacground, there;s no shadow work there, and the filters look thicker than the rest of the ciggie, and the box texture - well there isnt any!
um, i would have to class them ciggies as unacceptable, sorry - my girlfirend has made me promise to never smoke, so she would probably say accepting virtual ciggies is close enough.

I dont know what it is Duga.. but either your server sucks the big cahoona, or else everytime I log on and view your posts recently your sever is either down or else my browsers are screwy???.. is it just me or are other people having simliar probs?

the images just dont view stright away - i think he woudlbe better off providing links.
just view the image if you're in netscape, or copy image location or whatever in IE.
its one of those bloody free server problems, which i think can be remedied by saving as gif (hint hint duga! <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

you're probably better off having the image url, just without the IMG tags around it - saves scrolling down the page for whatever pic exactly it was you wanted critiqued.
better yet - use gifs! ive never had a prob with them!

Side note; thank god I buy cigarettes that have 20 in a pack, rather than 4.

As you can see I made some improvement to the cigs, and now ti looks more real. I made yet another shell-like shape using only lines, gradient and mask. I'll keep the technique fro myself for now, unless someone really is interested.

Your images are really poor quality, how do you save them? This has been bother me for a while...there's just a ton of jpg style errors in them...have you ever thought of trying gifs? or better quality when saving as jpg?

You know, I don't mean to be a negative person, but...

LORD your images are...umm...totally basic, useless, uninspired and unrealistic. The cigarettes still don't look muh anything like the real thing they are "representing," they don't cast a shadow on the "background" and the two that are visible the most are different widths! Hello!!!??

I'm desperately trying to figure out why you think that looks like a shell, but I'll let you have it. It has "shell-esque" qualities, if that's what you're going for..

But honestly, man.. You are very enthusiastic, but..but...artistic talent, man. There's gotta be some if you're going to succeed in this industry.

The point showing my work isn't about being successful in the indystry. It's about ideas, and the simple means PS provides for executing them. Can you show me a cigs tutorial?? You can of course correct me, but I usually save all as jpg/10/high. Next I'll do gif.
