I am told that when saving an EPS with a clipping path, Quark 4.0 doesn't recognize it. Adobe acknowledges this. We haven't upgraded for this very reason. My question is to anyone with Quark 4.0, PS 6.0 and Illustrator 7.0+. If you place an eps with a clipping path into an Illustrator file and then save the Illustrator file as an EPS (embedding EPS files), then place into quark. Does it work? Are the paths recognized? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

HI Jeni.. don't know your answer I am afraid, but possibly posting at the Adobe Forum might help. or else email Adobe directly and explain your issue and that it is holding you back from upgrading, and they might have a quick response.. maybe...

sorry not to be able to help more

VP- how helpful do you think Adobe is going to be with a question regarding Quark?

Sorry to say I have no clue. I am not a Quark power user in any way. A clipping path in a Photoshop file embedded in an Illustrator EPS, placed in Quark ....

I have PS 6 and Illustrator 8, but no Quark. Sorry.

Steve: well I was hoping that the folks over at adobe might value a potential customer? (be it an upgrade or not?).. sorry for my naivety!... and I am sure they would have checked issues such as this before releasing a new version that changed an existing functions usuability?... am I that trusting ?

edit: actually Steve.. your right.. why should I think that adobe cares about exisitng xustomers!.. doh@me! the rate that they are intergrating IR with PS I might have to start thinking about Corel!! lol...
