How many Asylumites use Quark? What exactly does Quark allow you to do? I come from a PC environment and am unfamiliar with Quark. Many jobs I've interviewed for require knowledge of Quark. Is it that great of a program? I never hear any praise or bashing of Quark...Can some of you Mac heads help me out? |

Yep, I used to use Quark a lot back in college. We used it for the school newspaper. Great for layouts like that. It's quite powerful as said before. Personally, I really enjoyed using it. I didn't think it was *extremely* hard to use...... like most things, it just takes a little time and playing... |

Yep - Steve can elaborate, but don't have the time now. Suffice it to say it is pretty much the industry standard for page layout, from a one page ad to a 500 page catalog, and everything in between. InDesign is growling at the heels, but the user base is enormous. Good tool, but lots of people don't like corporate Quark. They still earn their living with the software though. Don't think it's exclusive to Mac though - is that possible? I'm sure there's a windows version. |
