I've just finished working on something that I've decided to call 'The hand of God' and I'd appreciate some feedback.

First however i'm going to give you some background information.....

This is one of my personal works inspied by Michelangelo's Vault of the Sistine Chapel. The particular part of his truely great work that has always captured my attention is it's secondary focal point being the hands. I wanted to attempt to re-create this image in a completly different style but still retain a certain ammount of the context of it's inspiration.

For those of you who know nothing of this work or the religion it is based apon, the basic idea behind the painting is that of God (on the right) touching the hand of adam, the first being that god created (on the left). I wanted to portray a sence of there being both a higher and lower entinty present in my work.

HERE IS THE IMAGE (My srever may not be working when you try and view it, so if the link doesn't work at the moment please try again later.)

I was opting for a cyberpunk feel as I wanted to add a somewhat fuurestic feel to the whole thing. I'm looking for suggestions on how this could be improved in trems of colour & composition. If you want to through in some general comments then please feel free.

my first impression is that the fingers on both hands seem to have lost a lot of definition - the right hand's fingers are all smudged together, and its hard to fully see the left fingers too (or at least where their bottom knuckles are, if you get what im saying)
it looks like you wanted the light to look incredibly bright, and i think you achieved that, however, im not sure about how well you treated this light source on the hands.
still, it does look really neat, and heck, it shows more potential than anything i could compose!

You sure this wasn't inspired by E.T?... (someone would have said it)

I don't get the sense of two entities here.... it makes me feel like it's one person touching their fingers together.
Buncha is right.... there's not much definition in the fingers and everything gets jumbled up with the light.
I think you accomplished about half of waht you wanted to.
It's definately got potential... I'd like to see you work this a bit more and see what you coem up with.

And the Lord spake, "Pull my finger."

And so Man did, and a divine wind was heard by all the beasts of the Earth.

And a great exultation was shared by all.

Amen.

In the beginning, there was the word, and the word was God, but by the time it reached the other end of the phone line it was Gznd.
