Wheeee! You rock, linear! Yuppers, polor coordinates is the clue. It takes straight things and makes them...round. However, there are probably a couple around here that'll ding the use of filters...but that's how I would do it. You could check out the GN tut on Polor coordinates, it's pretty good, and the Displace tut rocks! What ever you do, be sure and make a copy first to try on. Hope that helps. |

Umm, aren't rectangles and squares the same thing? My algebra teacher explained to me about how they are the same, and sqaure is just the perfection of a rectangle... Ok, nevermind, I probably just made myself sound like a complete idiot... |

Good one, Warjournal, but the heirarchy should go: |

Another possible method is to use Filter > Distort > Wave with a very high wavelength and only a few generators. Adjust the amplitude so that it looks right; it should probably be quite low. This will cause a "bent" image, but won't have alot of proportional distortion. It's a decent method. |

The problem with taking an existing pipe and then bending it in a circle is that the light source will be all around the image. This is a problem if the rest of the image has the light coming from the usual direction of top-left. |
