I'm a little confused about the whole watermark thing, because basically I've heard two different things about them. The first one is that a watermark is something that Photoshop automatically puts on every picture, and it shows the registration number of the version of Photoshop it was produced in. Another thing I saw somewhere was that you have to put your own watermark on the picture in the form of some kind of copyright. Which is true? |

Here's what I know. There is a technology that goes by the name of "digimark". A trial version of it comes with Photoshop, but ultimately you have to pay for it. This technology encodes an ostensibly invisible inprint on your file. This imprint is read by Photoshop when opening a file, and can also be used should a complaint be taken to court. I don't know if this is "automatic" or not, but this is the "watermark" in the ture sense: it's an integral part of the image, can't be easily removedd. |
