phong has been around a long time. I put a his link in my list of sites and tuts ect here last week.

I wasn't saying he was posting here. I would pretty much bet he's lurked around this site a time or two but that is guessing on my part. I was saying *I* haven't seen much of him/his site etc in a long time. I mentioned him last week in a post about tutorials to practice with or something. It wasn't a part of the thread you mention.....did you ever email him? It seems Doc did

What the hell? Geez moaiz, what does that mean? I wouldn't mind if phong posted here, might be interesting, but I'm certainly not gonna crawl up his a** and die!

Hang on now.. Out of all the places I can think of dying... Phong's a** doesn't seem all that bad... But, I'm in a rather twisted mood right now...

heh... He's not being begged to come here. He's not looked up to as better than Doc..Wead...twitch...DG or any of the other great graphic artist around here...IMHO

He's good at what he does and this place r0cks...so I would think he would lurk around from time to time at Doc's pages...shrug

Well I wouldn't get your undies in a bunch moaiz, because praising the work of a designer is not the kind of thing that will bring this place down. Truth be spoken, I hate most Internet forums because they are generally filled with a bunch of obnoxious kids who I have no interest in listening to. This place is different... we get professionals in here, and the type of creative people who are worth bouncing ideas off of. I wouldn't hang around here for one instant if I didn't expect to read something interesting or thought-provoking.

To paraphrase my point, if you've been caused discomfort by the worshiping of web-designers before, it probably has to do with te type of people who frequent those forums, and you were just looking for a reason to be annoyed by them. Personally if I don't like a thread here I DON'T READ IT.

I think jiblet got the gist of it. I can see how phong's special could wow impressionable young twelve year olds, and I am just as annoyed at the type of web worship you're describing moaiz. And you are definitely entitled to your opinion so if you think he's a hack, *shrug*. No big deal. You made it clear who you'd describe as a good web designer. (BTW, I'd agree with you on all of those.)

Like I said, a bunch of kids posting "phong is g0d" wouldn't even hold my attention for a second, but if Shiiz or one of the other Asylumites recommended a page to me then I'd definitely take notice.
