Preserved Topic: Challenge to Photoshop God's :) (Page 1 of 1)

Anyone who would like to try, I think its a good challenge to see who can create the Shrek Effect in Photoshop. If you have no clue what Im talking about go to www.shrek.com and look at the logo. The logo is easy, but the "funnels" are the tricky part.....Please post what you have made! Thanks!

I worked hard on that one.

It just looks like a layer style to me. With some extra air brushing at the horns.

Well, it is a pg movie so I think some *cough* parts of the donkey had to be removed for "artistic" purposes.

As for the text, krets is right. It's mostly finding the right text and then using the pen tool for the "funnels". Offhand, I'd say it's just a gradient for the shadow, or a new layer gaussian blur, etc.; some noise, and some highlights and shadows. Oh, and *gulp* *whisper* a drop shadow.

Yeah, thats the effect I was referring to. The text in itself is simply a font with some light scaled rough textures...The only thing that is a little difficult is the funnels. I figured it would be an easy effect to accomplish, like you said, with some graidents, some airbrushing, a little noise...and walla....but I just couldn't get the same effect....

Dammit! I ain't seein nothin! Just a big red 'X', and the link doesn't work for me either. More clones at work? Now I've just got to see it!

Wrong font, colours are a touch off, but five minutes nonetheless. Airbrush, drop shadow, and bevelling layers. No effects other than the shadow.
