Preserved Topic: searching for ice texture... (Page 1 of 1)

i have been looking for a good ice tutorial for a while and all i can find is ice text anyone out there know of a good one?i have already searched here and on the links.

well, before even thinking about a suggesting the usage of a PHOTO TEXTURE, I would say that chances are good you could use the same techniques to create ICE TEXT as you could to create ICE TEXTURES...though that'd only be a guess.

And if I weren't just silly, I'd say use a photograph.

But for the most part, if your just after a texture that a photo would be your best bet. (best bet <-- that just looks wrong to me??)

Mabey try searching for a 'save the penquins' site or something, that should get you some nice ice images...

is it plain ice your looking for.. or ice covering something? whats the lighting conditions ?.. is it old ice or fresh ice?.. cracked ice or sheet ice?.. frosted ice or clear ice?.. oh oh.. the possibilties are endless...

thanx twitch but the effect for text doesnt really work out well for this but i did try that before i posted.
