Hello,

How do you make a really big square brush? I saw in the custom brush pallet that you couldn't make a square brush there.

Thanks!

Open a new image. Make a black square on it in the size you want your brush to be. Select all. Click on the little arrow in the upper right corner of the brushes window. Choose "Define Brush".

That's it.

I opened a new document at 200px by 200px.

I drew two overlapping circles that I want to make into a custom brush.

I drew a square marquee around the circles.

I went to edit->define brush.

A pop-up appeared with a picture of my selection and a place to enter a name for the new brush.

I entered a name and hit enter.

My new brush is now at the bottom of the brushes palette.

Does that help ya?

What version do you have? If you have 6.0, what BeeKay say might be the way to go. I don't have 6.0 so I don't know what the differences are.

Is that all there is to making a brush? Or do you need to save it as a .ABR?

Nope, that be all there is to it in version 6. Definitely one of the many cool things about photoshop! You can create brushes till they're coming out of your ears ...
