Hey, I have been making a reproduction of Mondrian?s Lozenge, Blue, Yellow and Red ... but am having difficulties saving the transparent gif image without a white fringe showing up. I can't use the de-fringe tool because the background is transparent and nothing happens. I've tried cropping into the image, and adding a black boarder around the image, but I still get these wild white to gray fringes. I can't believe how much time I have spent trying to fight this one. aaaaauuuuuuuggggh.... I need my meds, someone to hold me, and my teddy bear.

Set the matte to none, or to the background color you are planning to place the image on.

Brilliant tutorial, that. Pure genius.

Reitveld : the defringe should be run on the image, not the background. Sometimes *remove white matte* does the trick, too. On the image.
