Does anybody know how to make a Turntable Record in Photoshop. I just need a top view. Thanks

Alright, I'll step up then.

Get a picture of a turntable, get an *actual* turntable if you can. Look at it. Looooook... Keep looking, observing, studying it even. Draw it with pencil on paper if you like. Now open up PS and reproduce what you see using the tools provided to you.

Here's a secret: That's how all the pros do it.

Let radial blur and polar coordinates be your guide.

HEHE, I just tried and nothin, you don't even wanna see my attempts. What did you start with,(ie. Use scanlines??)

Nope, noise. Then do a radial blur at about 100, then again at a slightly lower amount.

Not too bad except for one problem Kine - the indents in the middle section are far deeper than the record would be thick.

Know what I mean?

If you look at a record, there will be no indentations in the middle, because there simply isn't enough thickness to play around with.

Nice grooves though

Look at it.

See what makes it "it" and then try to reproduce it.

Then, come on back and show us what you've got, what you tried to get there, and maybe we can help some.

See, now was that all *that* hard? If I didn't know you were trying to make a vinyl record, I would take one look at that graphic and say "yep, that's a vinyl record". It looks good, but I think you need to adjust the speculars on it - they're too bright right now, just tone them down a bit and you're set.

...and add something to the center. Every record I've ever seen at least has the song name(s) there. Some have fancy pictures or the album title or copyright stuff or something.

mhm, yeah the speculars go over the record itself!
