I'm currently working on this tutorial http://faq.ozoneasylum.com/FaqWiki/shownode.php?id=162&sortby=rating

The problem is i cant seem to find a skin colour that looks right

HERE is the eye that i'm working on (Don't laugh, i've only been using PS for a short while)

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good skin colour?

Also...let me know what you think of the eye and what i could have improved. I know the reflections are poor but this is something i'm gonna work on in the future. I didn't use layers with this so it pretty hard to change stuff after i've done it.

eh....?

find some pictures of people and grab some skin tones with the eyedropper.

People come in an awful lot of colors, so it's a little ahrd to say "this" is flesh color.

Oh, sorry, don't mind me. I'm really tired and am not thinking straight.

I'll probably leave this for tonight but i'll work some more on it tommorow.

If i post again when i'm finished could you give me some advice on what i could improve.

If i get stuck at a certain point i'll be back. Sorry to have bothered you with such a stupid question. Like i said, i'm tired and just thought this would be the easiest way. Sorry again...

hmm... skin has a lot of texture to it and a lot of color variations... even in just one person. Hard to make it look right, it is.

Here is an interesting chart, haven't used it myself but look useful for a basic staring place.

I would print out the chart so you know which colors look best on your printer.

Thanks jstuartj, that will come in handy in the future.

I've got my basic colours but i'm having a bit of trouble blending them all together. I'm gonna try for a bit longer but if i still cant do it i'll upload a pic so you can see where i'm going wrong...

I just browsed the FAQ and saw that Weadz had given his permission for adding his stuff.

I think I've got a sequel to Paint with Weadz on my HD at home, which includes colours and stuff.

I'll see if I can find it and submit it to the FAQ.
