Okay, actually I really like this layout..clean, minimal, and functional (even though no links seem to work yet). The colour choice is pretty run of the mill, but it works, so why fix it? <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif">

Now, for what I noticed that could use a change (you knew this was coming).

The bevelling of the "server side productions" at the top underneath the large half logo, is really distracting. The matte plasticy look of the text doesn't seem to go with your slight textured background, and your semi transparent logo. Also, it seems to look "muddy" or blurry for this reason, which contrasts with how crisp the rest of your page looks. I'd probably say leave the text flat rather than give it that treatment, as it's the only thing that looked "amateurish" to me right off the bat <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

The only other thing would be to scale down the URL graphic as well. Obscuring it underneath the half logo made me squint automatically, which is one of the bad "signs" I naturally note when looking at a site. Other than that, maybe toning down the drop shadow on the full logo just a hair...but that's it that I can critique.

The rest of it is quite nice, not intrusive, and not a masturbation session of pointless graphics.

While I respect DG's opinion on the main title text, I don't exactly agree though. The reason? It's not a gawdy color, it definitely places emphasis on itself because of the 3d-ness, but you want people to remember the name.

You really should drop the large centered top half of the logo to the background... lose the dropshadow on it (and maybe even apply the stoney texture to it or make it an inset into the texture). Then move the title text in front of it, and add a dropshadow. Basically you would just be grouping the title text with the smaller logo on the left instead of the 2 logos.

You could maybe tone down the bevel a bit on the text (although I like the effect it gives) to make it match the logo a little better....

I dig the site. I'm a sucker for those nice outlined tables with content and that fine texture. I think it has just the right feel for what you're trying to sell <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

Yup, that's nice, I like the fine texture and the tables as well. And like a monkey I'm gooing to hav to agree on the black, beveled text, maybe adjust the depth and blur (reduce them a wee bit) and possibly jack with the light source color as well.

Other than that it's real cool, I'm stealin it for my next site <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif"> j/k

Great job! Very clean, especially liked the usage of colors. The blue and gray have always been good bedfellows, so says I.

Now the bad news.

On the headers "Server Side Programming," "Web Design," and "Site Information," the logos on the right side are terrifyingly blurred--It took me a few moments to decide just what they were. Then I compared them to the logo on the top left corner and realized how blurry they had become.

Next; Is it necessary to post the logo twice in one header bar? It's not only redundant, but rather intrusive. I say lose one of them--probably the center one.

Continuing on the "center one loss" thread, I say this: it's terribly distracting. It takes away most of the readability of your name and your address.

As for the the logo itself, I recommend squishing in the left and right arcs closer to the central circle to give it a more closed look--not so free-floating-might-blow-away look, which is oftentimes the sign of a designer who is unwilling to work close in hand with his work.

The bevel on the text....ehhh, I could go either way.

**LOVE** the layout of the tables--the light gray over dark gray is simply to die for--and the one-pixel black border is wondrous as well.

I dont even have my hacked version of PS yet. So i dont know if it will get changed, if it does, it may be a while. If i do, ill lower the bevel, but i dont wanna mess with the blue floating logo thing, i could make it squished together more, but its gonna stay looking like that. Twitch, i dont wanna get rid of anything drastic, but ill compromise with you, how about makeing it 2x as transparent, make it more readable, without trashing it.

translation: I stole the graphics from this cool site, thought u guys would like them, but I'm afraid I don't know how to change them.

Reve ~ I hear what you're saying. I'm not saying that anything that I comment on should be treated as gospel. In the end, it's your site--you do whatever you feel like doing with it. My only concern was that the text was rather difficult to read. You're welcome to do anything you want. Alright St. twItch and the rest of you ... what the hell are you guys talking about with the blurred logo. It doesnt looked blurred to me only a lighter blue. Is that what your saying is blurred?

I dont think the bevel makes all that much of a difference. I think you guys just picked it out because its really the only thing to pick at. I think you might want to tone down the bevel once you get PS up again but it would look the same if you left it the way it is. Also when you get PS back I think you should take out the address and add that BELOW the image, so its not in the way. Leave the name the way it is though. I also like the two logos on that main banner thingy. If you were going to move it I would put it over the header Server Side Programming, in that table.

No ones mentioned the Tracker yet though. I dont know it just doesnt make the page look all that profesional with it there. Is there a reason why its there?

No Jiblet, my hard drive really did die, and dont you go giving me any more beef about it. I also just changed cable modem providers, and got of being grounded. I found out that my soundcard is one of those piece of shit ones built into your motherboard, and the fucker that built it cant tell me what kind it is, so i cant get the drivers, so i gotta bring it to him, like 30 miles away, hes a fucking fruit.

Ok, i think im gonna leave it, i like the way the bevel draws your eyes right to the name, and it doesnt look bad. I need more help though, what would be a good font, and what size, to use as the basic font?

The doctor said I was slighty nearsited and have a stigmatism(dunno what that is) so I can use them if I want but its not really necessiary ...
