Just playing around with an i-face. How does it look? I know it's not very original, but I like it..

its certainly attractive, even if it is a bit plain. it doesnt look like i-plastic to me, though.

my only concern is that it is designed specifically for 800x600 res. make sure you leave yourself a way for this design to expand and fill up the page in the higher res as well as protect it from breaking it in the lower res. but you probably already know that :-)

It looks pretty cool. Like La said, it doesnt really look like iplastic but it still looks nice. I dont like the buttons you have now though. There a little plain and I would suggest instead of putting a banner up there to use it as a roll over whenever you roll over the button it tells you a lil summery or something about it ...

Very clean, simple, well layed out design.

The one critique I would make would be to add emphasis to something. The whole thing almost feels like it's receding to the background with all the same gradients and colors. Nothing stands out, no place for the eye to go to.

I know that's pretty abstract, but any specific suggestion would probably be telling you to modify too much of it...

I disagree Jiblet. I think the gradients look fine. The only thing i would change would be the buttons. There too plain for me. I would suggest trying to make them look more like stero buttons.

lovely design. The only minus for me is the single pixel lines pointing to the top row of orange buttons, gotta be a better way to label them.

Very appealing to me, well done.

I see no plastic what so ever, it could of all been done in flash. The layout is ok, but you shouldnt of called it a plastic i-face.

I guess when I said that I didnt think it looked plastic I guess I was more or less comparing it to Phongs e-plastic tutorial. No it doesnt look much like that sort of plastic but I guess it does look plastic. A lot of things can be done with Flash, almost anything in fact. I wouldnt do things in flash because it narrows your audience a little and Flash sites rarely contain any content. Also Flash sites can look extremely cheesey if not dont right ...

looks like plastic to me.....maybe not like the common tutorials for shiny transparent plastic, but who says plastic is always supposed to be transparent and shiny????

Awilthil ~ Your interface is good. It's clean and easy to understand. Intuitive navigation is one of my favorite things in a web site.

Now for the bad news: It's...well...boring. There's nothing going on that would make me interested in reading more about that site. It just sits at the top like a lump in my throat. The fonts aren't engagin and the gradients, while soothing, do nothing for the eye.

I do like the orange dips, though. Orange and blue (being opposing colors, my firneds) work quite well for drawing the eye to important parts, or doing what we "artists" call "flashing." Bravo on the color selection.

So...I give it a 6.839423 out of 10. Clean, easy to understand, but utterly useless in any sort of design that wants to catch your eye.

A guy told me it looks like anodized aluminum. Maybe thats a better word.. Thanks for the comments guys.

Oh, by the way. I'm not going to use this on my site. Just made it for fun.

Quite nice i-face, but seems you are using photoshop 5.0 without the upgrade that repairs the text tool, as the kerning of your buttonwords looks terrible. Corret theese by hand or upgrade photoshop, should help.. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

I don't see why twItch^ would call the layout boring at all. I think its nice and Awilthil I think you should use this as your current layout. Or maybe a future layout.

Hmm.... jestah, I said that for several reasons; There's nothing that draws the audience into the design. Nothing new and interesting. No textures to play with. No feeling of welcomeness, other than the campy nature of it. It can have some wonderful things come from it, but nothing yet. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif"> So there. (lights your hair on fire)
