hmmmmmmmmm... this is a toughy... your sig could be seen as minimilistic.. which, if true, it is very good... or it could be viewed as something that has been put together rather quickly....

this all depends on your experience with your graphics program or else its your intention to have a sig that is simple, straightforward and uncomplicated... both or either of which could be true..

purely from a graphic impact point of view.. your sig is just a little too simplistic for my liking... but like I try and say.. if its your thing.. and your happy with it.. then go for it!

Well, I agree with VP on one point -- it's your sig. If you like it, then screw us and go with it!

I disagree with VP, however, about the "minimalist" ascpect. There's just too much going on and it's too big and bold to be considered minimalistic.

Let me try and be constructive with this post --

1) I think it would have a much better impact if the overall height were cut in half. The length is ok, you could even make it a bit longer without any problems.

2)The font is not very attractive - I think something either more "rounded" or something more intricate (depending which way you want to go) would help out too.

3)The background effect sets the overall tone to being caught between something *overstated* and something *understated*
It needs to make up it's mind and either tone down to something more subtle, or step up to something more intricate (notice the pattern? ).

4)Although it doesn't have to be transparent to be good, something mirroring the color of the forum background somewhere in the sig (even a small part) would help pull it together and make it "fit" here.

let me try and quantify my idea of minimalistic

I mean't minimalistic, as in the use of 3 quite plain layers..... one bg, one with some wave effect, and one with text... thats minimalistic in my opinion..can't see where you think too much is going DL?

Ouch! You have a good start with the background, (although it is rather gaudy) but you fall short on the text area though. Try an adjustment layer with some bevel effects or mabey a layer mask with another background filling the letters. Something, ANYTHING to make it a bit, well, more.
