i hate you, you didn't listen to a single thing i said hehe.

actually other than changing the size of the main graphic it doesn't look like you did anything to it really.

and that'd be my new critique.

ok so first you said it was slow.... on my front page i said it was gfx intense.

"first off there's the splash page.. "

um ok i really dont know why i have a splash page. othere then to put my meta tags and shit in before the frames. and .. umm i was going to flash the text. umm i really dont know... actually splash pages are kinda bad hey .. beacuse you have to get ppl to click though... umm anyone got any stats on how many ppl actually click though ??

"you really need padding in your tables, "

ok i tryed adding cell padding and cell spacing. but it looked really shit. any way you can add horizontal padding but not verticl ??

"the "section headers" are a little hard to read, " umm oops sorry i didnt read this properly :-(

"next overall design problem.. i really dig your header graphic, but there's way too much space between it's botton and the top of your actual pages. i'd try narrowing that up to half the distance." yup i did this .

"actually i've got a better idea. i realize that your top graphic is also your navigation, but i really dislike the way on your page the header graphic takes up so much space and new stuff loads in the below frame. i think it'd look 100 times better if you didn't use frames and instead the WHOLE page scrolled."
umm no becasue that'd defeat the pourpose i put it in frames for

"i might try working a little bit of sepia tones into the header graphic as well, maybe even some subtle colors in the mouseovers... just the right amount of color could completely set this design off."
i added color to the mouse overs ... umm could someone explain sepia :-( ermm am i just stupid or what is it ??

"one final thing you might want to consider working into the site is a subtle blue or orange for text links or other important information on your pages. everything gets really lost with the gray text, background, blah blah blah."

yup i did that to.. added mouseover to the links in the nav bar so the go a light blue

... hehe umm ok i'll fix the section headers. i agree about that.

also what do others think about the splash ??

thanx guys and girls
especialy you mikey

OK, I'm going to ignore the splash for right now, and talk about the interior pages. The top header graphic fits the 800x600 now, but I think it'd be better if it still scalled, think some kind of background kludge to let the thick steel bit continue off of the left, and the narrow one off the right. That way you could center the interface hunk. (Maybe try 3 frames at the top, that would handle the background issue). The tables on the bottom, instead of *two* table, one of them align right and the other aling left, you should use just one table, this way the content would flow together better. As is, if you let your window go big, the two tables drift far apart, and if you go too small, they overlap!

Looks fine in both NS and IE browsers, so that's good...

Colors are ... minimalist, yet dimensional, so that's good...

But you've got like 150 pixels at the top between the top menubar and the beginning of the text; you could fit a lot more on your screen if you shored that up a touch...say no more than 20 pixels...but that's me.

OK, one thing that I notice is the top frame is set as a percent of the window height. Don't do that in this case! People who have smaller browser heights have the bottom of your header image cut off. Set it to an exact number, without a % sign.

Oh, no, wait, I just looked at your source; you didn't use percents, you just specified two numbers. Take this piece of code in your frameset:

rows="132,367" cols="*"

You can get rid of the cols="*", it just means "make a single column", the browser will do that anyway by default. Change the rows part to:

rows="132,*"

that mean 132 for the top frame and whatever's left over for the rest.

The only other thing I don't really like is the lack of padding on the table. It's just that all the text gets pushed to the edge of the cell and touches the border. Try cellpadding="4" or so, and if the vertical padding is really that bad, then it can be fixed with style sheets - it'll just be a bit more complicated.

But I like it otherwise; color scheme is nice. Maybe a font change? I'm not fond of Times.

I had a number of comments here too, but I'm not up to repeating all the things I said about the level of progress your site was in at the time, nor the suggestions since they are probably all irrelevant now.

See ya in purgatory.

I think you need some left and right padding on your tables. And I really hate the font, but that's just my taste. I like the graphics, but I would'nt exactly call the site graphic intense, like you said in the splash.

Graphics-good
Layout- could be more interesting.

Give this a shot...

TD {padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;}

...or if you want it outside the stylesheet;

style="padding-left:5px;padding right:3px;" in the TD tag.

To link to a stylesheet, use this link in the head tag:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="nameoffile.css" type="text/css" />

Remember to remove the style-tags in the css-document. If you use cellpadding in the stylesheet, all cells will have padding. What I usually do is use pseudo classes to solve that problem;

TD{padding:4px;}
TD.1{padding:0px}

What you do is name the cells in interfaces or other tables where you don't want padding with
class="1" in the TD tag.

I'm not very good at explaining in english I'm afraid, so you might not understand what I mean. Take a look at http://www.netpedia.com for a great tutorial. CSS is a great timesaver so you should learn it as soon as you can. It's also very easy.
