I appropriated two graphics and modified them a lot. My goal is to use the fewest graphics possible, and one short javascript. I want to go back to the basics and see how much can be accomplished.

It is designed for IE. There's problem with the glowing pink ball in Netscape.

I'd like to know: 1. Does it load fast? 2. Is the color scheme pleasant? 3. Did I accomplish much with minimal graphics and javascript? 4. Do I deserve any credit for originality?

I know the "humor" is suicide for a business page, but I don't want to take things too seriously.
Besides, you people have all the serious clients, so I may go for the "casual" demigraphic.

By the way, Stas.net is upgraded. They give you one gig of free space with no ad banners. This is my first post in their new system so I don't know how many problems might show up yet.

Thanks

Hmm, well you dont exactly have much up. I dont think we've ever been asked to critique a "comming soon" page, but it looks fine. I dont overlly like the pink you used there nor am I a big fan of the purple but it works I suppose. The whole favorite links thing ya got going there isnt my personal favorite way of displaying links but it works.

Your RANCID DESIGN banner is a little hard to read, might wanna fix that. The stretched out face is pretty cool, I like that except where the eyeballs would go you should have the same color as the background, its a little dark, and jaggy.

The JavaScript bally thing does look pretty cool though.

Originality, well don't take this the wrong way but I didnt see anything there overlly original. The ball thing I havent seen done in that exact way before if thats what you mean, but it has been done. The link set up, eh its ok, i guess you could say its somewhat original ...

Thanks Jestah. I know the sliding ball is old news, but I am happy about HOW I did it. Thanks a ton for noticing. I was thinking the same about the eyes, but I am no artist. Paint Shop Pro deformed, blurred, and retouched, the face which I took from a tutorial site. I had a formal rancid design banner, but thought this decrepit version looked more on topic.

Thanks twitch^. You always make me chuckle. The color scheme sort of evolved. I think it's unusual and attractive, as is, but will try to find more readable alternatives. The damn gray stays, though! hehehe...
