I'm lovin' it, especially the handwritten part.

Then again, apart from the text, I don't know how much it reminds me of 'fuck,' but its still nice.

What inspired it was the tool song Ænema...i was listening to it and playing around with some of my own scanned 35mm slides and negatives, random scanned tidbits,some stock art, and random circles and lines in illustrator...i wrote down the lyrics quickly fiddled with them and scanned the altered version of maynard's lyrics...layed some steel segmented piping and play around some more...i might add some connectors to the piping and see how that looks...

Hey I likey man. Thats really tight, tho, aside from the lyrics I cant see the 'fuck' in it either. Might help if I knew the song eh? heh thats not a problem, I can't see the 'fuck' in my entry, its more like 'what the fuck'.

Dont really have any suggestions for it, not too sure where pipes and connectors will lead, perhaps another level of detail, or a 3D'ishness to it perhaps? Anyways kickass man =)

The cacophony is great.....but, reiterating, other than the text, it doesn't really convey the "fuck" to me.

But that could just be me. It is a bit angry, but also cold. Nice image usage though. I love the style and the look even if it misses the fuckmark..heh.

Oh, and for constructive criticism:

well, the imagery *is* very nice, and I do like the picture.

two major things bother me though --

one is the 'cold' feeling to it. Fuck is many things.....but cold doesn't seem right to me.

secondly, but more importantly....you are using someone else's artistic conveyence of the word to relate your artistic conveyeance of the word. It's not like copying a style or attitude...youare directly quoting. That means pretty much you are not conveying anything...you're quoting. Doesn't work (as excellent a quote as it is...).

I was working on an image for this the other day. I'm kinda mad because I spent a while on it and it didn't turn out how I expected. Now I gotta start over.
Oh well...should be fun to make another image.

i wanted to do something with negative space and spell out the words fuck you but i kinda ran outta room...the whole thing is kinda meant to convey silent anger, kinda like muttering fuck you under your breath, hence the cold look...what i really wanted to do is find a squished bug and scan it to incoprorate into the pipes as a tangled mess...we've still got until march though...

i do sorta agree with dl-44 about the lyrics. write your own poetry. i do. and it pisses me off when ppl copy/quote song lyrics. eehh dont worry about it, just my opinion.

if you look really closely in the lower left corner you can see a picture of the top of maynard's head...not very clear shot and it fades to black but that was meant to be my credit to him for using the lyrics...

I mean I understand this isn't the biggest deal all in all....but using someone else's words to convey *your* feelings of the word.......kinda means there's not much point for your version of it doesn't it?

From what I see there, your work is strong enough to stand on it's own without plagurizing.

I've got something to replace the lyrics anyway and it might fit better...i just gotta find the original...time to bug the freshman english teacher...

DL: I see where you're coming from and all, i was kinda using it as a quotation (as opposed to plagerism), or that was my intent...maybe i shoud have made a better attempt to credit to maynard...I actually thought that because many people knew the lyrics that they could better relate to it...

I'm definitely going to replace them though...

truly, past all lyrics, photos, and various other cacophony that can be put into an image...does it convey "fuck" to :: you ::? yes/no? if yes, goto end. else, goto makeimage.

I love the picture. I doesn't convey much of anything to me though.
