it still has horizontal scrolling on 800x600 (ie 5.0 & ns 6.0, its worse in ns 4.7x).

the yellow doesnt quite fit in with your images at all. not to mention the fact that it is one of the harder colors (monitor wise anyways) on your eyes.

Ewwww, I don't like the yellow at all. I know someone said to get other colors in there, but yellow is the exact opposite of blue, and it really doesnt look good. Try something closer to blue, like cyan (bluegreen) or violet/purple. Maybe even green or red. But not yellow. Besides, that's sort of a "puke" yellow. =)

You had an eye or something in the previous design. i liked that. You should try to stick it in again, provided doing so doesn't ruin the design at all.

The picture of your stomache on the right looks a bit weird now, I think you should shrink it some so that you don't crop off as much as you did. (In other words, when you smallenized your design, you cropped the image. Try shrinking it instead.)

You have white lines separating things all around the site. That's fine, but some of them are different thicknesses than others. That makes it look really unclean to me. (Especially around the navigation images on the left, those look like they were thrown in there, not too pretty.) Try to regulate the thickness of those white lines.

Your pictures on the side look a bit disconnected from the site, like they were cut and pasted in with a WYSIWYG or something. You need to integrate those better... maybe a border would help.

Oh, the links are just bold text, it took me a bit of time to figure out they were links. You need to either (a) underline them or (b) change their color. Those are the two regularly used indications of links.

And again, kill the yellow. =)

Hey Bella! Yah, hate to say it, but I don't really care for the yellow either. The blue had a certain elegance, now what should we use for accent colors on that? My personal choice with that blue of yours would be a vibrant orange, but definitely not big hunks of it, just small details that would *really* jump out, (why they gotta be small!) Orange may not be you, I got orange on the brain sometimes, heh. Here's a boring commercial site with those colors, I always kind of liked this site, http://www.electrolux.com/ (Malin designed this one, it's been a constant headache for us, so I also kind of hate them, heh.)

So! Back to blue, it seems to be your best color! Try working more with your original design, but with the added details of some strong highlight color. Your first design had a restful feel, this one seems a bit loud and uncomfortable. FWIW, the width works for me, but I haven't dropped down to 800 x 600 to check it out, probably you designed for 800 pixels wide? Remember the width of the frame of the browser and the scrollbar, 760 pixels is the best you can go, and if you have a margin on the left, double it and subtract that also (so it's on both sides.) We're with you still, go girl!

Your pal, -doc-

imho, a nice improvment from your previous site, except that in NN 4 there was a bit white gap, about the width of one of you yellow colums in the header graphic?? which also caused the left hand side yellow colum to be about twice as wide as the right one, and then nothing really sat in it correctly.

And about that yellow colour, if you really like the yellow, change the blue, or at least tie in some of the yellow with the rest of the site. Put some yellow into you Header pic mabey.

Although personally, I don't like that yellow either, I'd recomend a darker colour than the blue you currently have there at the moment, otherwise the site may come accross as rather garish regardless of what colour you use.

You could also try keeping most of the colours in you site at roughly the same Saturation level, this can often help tie two seemingly odd colours togther. Think the different shades of blue in you Header pic, but with a hue change mabey?

Just some things to try...

Hope it all come's togther for you, it's looking good so far.

I agree with the Doc that a more orangy colour might be a better way to go. Orange is the complimentary colour to blue.
But the problem is not only the colour themselves, but also the ratio of them. Yellow is a strong colour, and if mixed with blue you need to have much more less of it. As it is now the yellow dominates the design completely, especially since your blue is a more pale one.
Other than that you can't really go wrong with a simple three-column design like this. It is easy to navigate, and the layout of it looks nice and simple.

I am thinking that using a darker blue for where you have yellow now, and then use the yellow/orange where you have white might give a bold and interesting design, that is not very common either (unlike the dark-blue/light-blue/white combination which you see everywhere), but then again, it might look hideous

I won't make any comments about colors. My only suggestion would be to make your page fit complete browser window (i.e. don't use fixed width table that works in the lowest resolution possible). If you have any cross-browser problems making it fit complete browser window in all screen resolutions, take a look at this example page that I've made: http://www.max.co.yu/ozone/bella.html (this example page works in IE/NN/Mozilla/Opera5)

Whoops, I missed one thing:

"And I'll warn ya know, they're gonna be pop-ups...sorry. "

Two things about that statement: first, i think you meant "now" and not "know". Second, AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH. popups are really annoying. if you can avoid popups, do so. We really dont like them here, especially. =)

Popup windows can be done well... And when dealing with, for instance, comment fields on a Gray Matter-based blog system, I think it can be done quite well, if sized correctly, sitting in the top left corner or something.

Yeah, popups can be used in a nice way (weblogs, galleries, ...), but if you put your whole web site in a popup, then that sucks!
