i've decided to give up trying to make my deteriorate version of my site work for netscape for now.
I've abandoned it for this intermediate version entitled gothic for the moment, whilst i do the database for the other version and make it cross browser. This gothic version is extremely simple, just html, a little javascript, css, and as little supporting image base as possible. Going for minimalistic, total cross browser compatibility, and instant loading time. Nothing works as of now so there's not much to show. Just hoping to get maybe a little insight to as what any of you may think of it.

I kinda like the layout... but I dont like the black and white (well I llike b& whitebut with see below)..... it is minimalistic for sure!

because I kinda like the layout I wouldnt scrap it necessarily.. I would work at adding some things that would focus my eye.. the logo works for that somewhat, but because of the lack of colour it doesnt really pull it off... it just seems lacking...

I am by no means a colour expert, however, some colour used carefully might compliment the layout without distracting from the b & w...

how, what, where.. no idea! heh.. just a feeling I get whilst viewing..

b & w = me likes if add some colour somehow ...

i think an underline or something different would work better for the mousover... makingit fade makes it look like a dead link.
black and white dont work for me personally.
have you tried changing white to grey/greyblue/any color? just a thought. it seems to have too much contrast... which is funny, cause i remember a bunch of sites turning up here which had too little contrast....
oh well... i like how much coolness you have fit in so few kb!

I'm gonna assume you change the site since you're first post.

I really like the red imagery you've used along the top and bottem of the page, the only bits I don't like are the borders and edges of the popup options and stuff. Seems a bit like a contrast of styles to me, like chicken scratch and industrial gone a bit wrong. You could try using hard solid jagid areas with some flat bit's in random places, and mabey even some curves, seeing you have a lot of curved areas in your imagery. Just my personal opinions though.

hmmm... maybe if you look at the 'gothic' site, you'll see what we're talking about.

red and black and white one is a cool layout.....

gothic one has potential, but you need some mad color and some background noise.

main site is ok... the menu is cool, but the right-side content area is kind of weak.

i like the straight black and white.

well if i can't find a good color/shade combos i'm sticking with the b and w. i guess i could take the main interface pic on the gothic version and print it out, crumple it up, step on it a couple times with a dirty shoe, copy it a few times on a bad copy machine and scan it back in. sounds like fun. i'm trying it. fuck the color. you're gonna get texture instead. maybe.

well, now that i think about it, i don't have any content up on this version yet. i think my original intent was to let the content do all the talking, and attention grabbing. i'll finish up posting all the content and then maybe if it is still kinda bland i'll try the color and/or texture.

well, eyezaer, if you're willing to help me debug it i'll eventually put that version up...either that or you could wipe netscape off the face of the planet...
