Blame Silence for the inspiration. Been practicing on and off for some time now. Not that good, but I'm getting there. My attempts from several weeks ago at these techniques were rather lame. Practice practice practice. Whew.

Hmm... Text needs some work. And a few other things. Time to let it cool off.

Shrinkage.

I think it could also be improved by adding a more depth, as well as more metalic colors to the metal parts. The skin could also be worked on a bit. I think it is great a great sig, but I think it could be made a whole lot better. Just do a pixel work.

Warjournal, if you drew that yourself, my compliments. That's comic-book quality. The only suggestion I have to improve it would be to check out www.sijun.com and look at the tutorial. There's some good stuff there.

take it darker to the edges - brighter in the middle, keep the light consistant. you have some good stuff to work with there.... keep workin =)

You confuse the magician with the journalist. He gets all the credit... I think people confuse the war, not the first time, probabally not the last. At least people think I have the potensial to do stuff as good as WJ does.

Doing this kind of thing comes and goes with me. Every few weeks I sit down and practice. Yeah, shading. Sure, I can do ink and water wtih my red sable, but nothing close in digital media. Still getting the hang of that. It's like I have a fear of contrast. Still getting the hang of using several Layers, too. Usually I do it all on one Layer, but I'm practicing to make that shift. This is my first practice session that I've cared to share.

Yes, I drew it, scanned, and got to work. And I love that guy's tutorial. "Okay, I'm done." Gotta love that.

So, this is my final version for now. I'm sure I'll get back to something along these lines again in a week or two. At least now I have a new template for making sigs for other people. Hehe...

second one is tons better WJ.. better depth.. text could be less obtrusive.. maybe fade teh opacity of the text and make it smaller? its looking well good... a huge difference from teh first one and that one was quite good nice work..
