Would you say that these two pieces look alike? Do you consider it inspired or ripped. Would like some feedback on this. We made our design on the feel of this one. Would it be called a rip or inspired. I know we can make one more original but, still want to know the meaning of inspired and rip. Maybe this can help others who has this problem cause we know there is nothing new that hasn't been done before.

Hmm...I wouldn't consider the two as 'ripped', one from the other. Yes, there ARE similarities, but then, I don't think it's ripped. Just my opinion...

That's the thing with trends.....everyone's doing it

I don't look at things like this as a rip in styles. Sure certain elements have similar qualities and that the whole image fits
in a rectangle...where do you draw the line?
Afterall when Picasso blatently ripped the early inventors of Cubist (1904-14), artists like George Braque, he never lost sleep overit,
he simply output more work than they did, made millions and became famous......
yeah...everythings been done before ...so do it.

That is a definate non-rip. The bad thing aobut being good is that people are ging to like what they see, and when people like what they see, it influences what they do after that, so design elements, (form, colour, shape, etc) from your work are going to turn up in theirs. THey haven't stolen your ideas, liek the numerous times people have completley ripped the doc's gui's, and yours too, they've simply been inspired by your work.

It's really hard to say. I would definately say "inspired by"

I was gonna say just coincidence but the use of the gradients on the right side is the one part that made me say hmmm.....

But to his credit he definately opened up PS on his own and did the work.

No, I don't think it is a rip it just look very similar they used same colors, if the colors were different i don't think you'd noticed.
