We will now be hosting some images locally and so currently this means we'll be looking to host past winners of the sig contest but only with the creators permission so if that includes you then either drop a note in here saying it is OK and if the image still isn't linked to from one of the old sig contest threads:

No emps you misunderstood me, the thread where lucid asked mahjqa about his fire techniqe and I ended up making this sig

ehmm I think you misunderstood Emps, insider..

Emps was looking for the winning entries in the monthly sig competitions, and wanted to ask permission of the creators first.

Do you just want winners or do you want runners up too?

Nimraw: Got it and uploaded it in the thread for that sig contest (there don't appear to be any records of this though - anyone know better):

InSiDeR: You are correct (nurse - four inmates have just fainted in here and I don't think its SB's underwear). I made the request for people's permission to move their mini-tutorials into the FAQ but, of course, mahjqa's mini-tutorial was actually done in here - good catch on that one.

SB: I am currently seeking just the winners but there isn't (and never has been) any reason runners up shouldn't add their sigs to the appropriate sig contest thread so if you want to then do so (you've got some good placings with some nice sigs so why not?). In the same vein if people want to add their entries (or thumbnails and links) to the RP then that seems like a good idea and they should go and do that. As I've said before there is no reason to ask for permission - if you see something that needs doing (and, importantly, the information you are adding is accurate) then go and do it. I can do bits and pieces but I can't do everything

What?! The "Sig Bashing" Comp is gone? ("...no records of this sig contest remain...") That was one of the best comps. Cryin' shame.

wj: When I drew up that bit of the FAQ I did have a god look around and I couldn't find quite a few sig contests and only bits of some others (all the RPs are there though). These are the ones I have found anything for:

Quite a bit of the Asylum's history is missing and so one of the aims of the FAQ is try and claw some it back (e.g. by getting some of the missing competitions winning sigs) and make it accessible to everyone.

That competition theme was Taxons idea.

I presume the broken links are due to the archiving pixie having swept through (March 2002 - October 2001 have clearly been archived) but I'll dig them out later and change the links. It would be handy if however archived things let us know so we can change the links

reitsma: Thanks for that the link was broken too. Good idea about using archives.org - I'm not supah keen at the moment and will work on getting the links fixed. If someone does go through there looking for the old threads then remember that some of them (I believe) were over at ozones.com (weren't some lost in the move?).

Sorry emps, but that thread wasn't the buddy comp, but an even earlier experiment.

Someone whipped up a randomizer that paired those who signed up to do sigs for each other.
(If I remember things correct, I did a sig for Sloloem, and Weadah did a few for me.)
